I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Georgia working with a wide variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD, grief, etc. I do take an active role in the counseling process as I work collectively with the client to navigate the presented concerns and create tangible goals to make life more manageable. I believe we develop psychological stress due to the inability to truly be who we are meant to be because we seek and desire belonging believing that we need to be who someone else wants us to be.

Today, there are so many stressors, added influences and events which influence our daily lives. These circumstances can make it hard to handle daily responsibilities and interactions. I am a clinical social worker with a passion to make a difference in the lives of everyone she meets. She has over 25 years of experience in working with Individuals in the mental health field. My mission is to help you navigate your present condition and challenges and restore hope so you can live your best possible life. You are not defined by the challenges you face or the needs you have! You are unique and special! In my practice at Tranquil Point Behavioral health services, I work with you to achieve your goal. I am a Chriatian and provide Biblical Christian counseling.

I received my Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston IL. I began practicing in a community mental health center in 2002 where I gained valuable experience in counseling with individuals, couples, families, and groups.I have been in private practice since 2006. My varied professional experience has provided me with significant challenges, resulting in a skillful, and empathic therapist. I am goal oriented and strength-focused. I enjoy assisting individuals and families in making positive changes. I specialize in relationship issues, depression, anxiety, stress management, substance abuse and domestic violence.

Sometimes in life we face situations that cause us to feel stuck, unsure of what to do, or we desire to seek insight, awareness and a better understanding of our true selves. We specialize in effectively helping clients overcome anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma or relationship challenges because we understand that these situations can keep you from living your best life. As a private practitioner, my clients range in age from 17-65 and bring to counseling a diverse set of issues ranging from human sexuality, abuse, drug use, mood disorders (e.g. Anxiety & Depression), serious mental illness and family, parenting and marriage issues. My process involves getting to know my clients and building trust as we work together to determine how the counseling process can best serve them. Once trust is cultivated and the issues are unveiled, we're able to move forward with a Person Centered focus that intersects psychology and a biblical worldview.

I work with adults and older adolescents who are dealing with issues related to depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress, relationships, achievement and success, chronic illness, transitions, early attachment problems, self-esteem, addictions, betrayal, and general problems in living. I focus on self-acceptance and growth rather than on pathology and "change." I believe we are all in this together; I take the journey with my clients rather than thinking I know what is best for them. I think questions are often more important than answers. My motto is: Less judgment, more curiosity.

A critical part of life satisfaction depends on figuring out how to express your unique identity in a rewarding career. You may be at the beginning of your career journey in high school, college or recently graduated, or you may be older and realize you need to make a change. Perhaps you have taken a few years away from your career to take care of children or a family member and now you are ready to relaunch yourself. In any of these circumstances you may find that sometimes your own thoughts and feelings about your abilities get in the way. Personal counseling and coaching with a career focus can be very helpful for you.

I am a certified professional coach, speaker, educator, and co-Founder of ImpactADHD.com, an online resource for parents of kids with ADHD/ADD and other "complex" issues such as Anxiety and Dyslexia. I help parents radically improve their personal and family life by gaining new skills, increasing confidence, and bringing a "coach approach" to parent management.

My approach to helping people is first trying to really get to know someone and understand what may not be working for them in their lives. We have all been there where sometimes we just don't know what is going on, all we know is that something is not in sync with what we want it to be.
