“I deserve better!” You tell yourself this daily, but somehow you continue to do things that leave you feeling stuck & inadequate. Daily you become more unmotivated & hopeless. Well, it is not by chance that you stopped at my profile. I believe that everyone deserves to live a meaningful life, but that many do not experience this life because they are either immobilized by their fears, lack direction/clarity about their purpose or they get distracted & lose focus. You already have the inner resources & strengths needed to transform your life & I am committed to supporting & empowering you to start your journey towards wellness

I am so glad that you are here and seeking change. Connection is the cornerstone of good therapy, and as a person, I am very compassionate, warm and engaging. I work with high achieving, highly driven, people who would like to deepen their experience of connection in life; both to themselves and others. No matter how our lives appear on the outside, many of us feel emotionally lonely and emotionally unsatisfied. I believe that through understanding and awareness, we can move towards becoming our true selves and experience life more deeply. We can learn to connect more fully with ourselves and others and transform our lives.

Life can be filled with a lot of difficulty but it doesn’t need to be so overwhelming or confusing! If you feel numb, overwhelmed, or sad for no reason, then you are not alone. Finding relief and peace in these struggles is possible through therapy. As a therapist I believe in being a friend and a guide by providing tools to improve mental health, coping skills, opportunities to process emotions/events, and even space for venting if needed. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly and work primarily with adolescents and young adults who have/had experienced depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, sexual abuse, grief, and religious trauma.

So, this life thing is super hard sometimes. And since 2020, life has been even harder for all of us. For those of us who have a trauma history, it's sometimes felt like more than we can bear. Relationships have changed or ended, many of us have come to a deeper understanding about ourselves and communities. Some of this new understanding has been challenging our coping skills we developed in the “before times”, often leaving us feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, grieving and anxious. My personal philosophy is this: we recover best in community, finding our people with whom we can develop mutually supportive environments.

You do not have to have lived through something literally life-threatening to be a trauma survivor. If you didn't get your basic or emotional needs consistently met during infancy and early childhood, you likely struggle in your adult relationships. You might be overly clingy, avoidant, or self-sabotaging with your friendships and romantic partners. Or maybe, for you, it shows up as anxiety, avoidance, dissociation, low self-worth, poor boundaries, and even self-destructive behaviors. This is called complex trauma or attachment-based trauma, and it can be healed!

My ideal client is anyone who wants help, is willing to be open and honest, and is willing to put in some work to explore how they can live their best life. They may know exactly what they want to accomplish, or they may not. If they don't, together we can work to clear the fog and reveal the path to the life they want to live. They may be battling depression, anxiety, ADHD, past trauma, or anything in between. They may need a safe place to process past events, reveal and express their feelings, practice coping skills, or learn new systems to help them live their best life.

I am an experienced helping professional, what I call a 'change agent' with a first hand knowledge of a wide variety of issues, problems and situations. I am excellent in communication, warm, relational, non-judgmental and direct. I work to hear the issues you are seeking help with. I do not use "psychobabble." I focus on the "here and now" issues you bring and we will explore what has brought you to this place, what you can do and/or what you can be. When we first meet we will make sure I am the best type of person for your concern.
