WelcoIme! My name is Tracy and I want to first and foremost acknowledge this important step you are taking for your mental well being. Admitting to yourself that you need outside support is not an easy task. I can appreciate how hard it must be to decide where you can go to confide in someone. I want you to know that building a relationship is of utmost importance to me. I want you to feel you have found a safe place where your innermost thoughts and feelings are heard without judgement.

In the words of a wise pop singer in the 1990's, "Everybody hurts, sometimes." While difficulties do arise in every human life, we can sometimes become overwhelmed when we experience intense suffering (for example, depressed mood, anxiety, self-esteem or relationship problems). As we try to help ourselves feel better, we can then develop unhelpful coping strategies, behaviours, or symptoms that further complicate our lives and drain us of joy, energy, and serenity. However, I believe we are all born with an innate ability to heal, grow, and thrive, and my goal is to help my clients activate this ability.

My approach is to allow you to bring your past into the present so that you can develop skills that free you to thrive in the future. I provide a safe, open and encouraging space to equip and free you to do three things: * identify automatic negative, limiting or unproductive thoughts and behaviours, and imagine a life beyond them; * move from the bondage of those thoughts and behaviours, into a freedom of intention and choice where you can live life with purpose and passion; * develop the skill to sustain this freedom on your own.

In my years of practice, my focus has been centred around individuals from different walks of life (i.e race, religion, sexual orientation). Particularly, ones who have trauma, body image issues, low self esteem , phobias and/or are anxious, depressed, stressed, destructive, angry, lonely, abused and in or have been in the child welfare system. In regards to my approach, I am genuine and compassionate, but remain equally honest and direct. Rather than bombarding clients with endless questions, I aim to engage them through meaningful methods and effective interventions.

Self Esteem Counsellors
Self-esteem lives on a spectrum: Not enough self-regard (or low self esteem) can lead people to become depressed, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. Too much self-love (or high self-esteem), results in an off-putting sense of entitlement and an inability to learn from failure. And it's occasionally a sign of clinical narcissism. Quite the opposite of being shy or shyness, yet still on the same spectrum.
