Some issues I specialize in are Trauma, Anxiety, Self-Esteem (Sense of Self), and Relationship Issues.
I work with clients struggling with trauma, attachment wounds, or old patterns that once protected them but now hold them back. They want to understand how the past shapes their present, build healthier ways of coping and connecting, and live with more authenticity, courage, and balance. In therapy, I offer a compassionate space to explore these patterns, strengthen resilience, and move toward greater clarity, fulfillment, and self-understanding.

Are you feeling disconnected from yourself, your relationships, or your sense of purpose? Maybe you’ve tried therapy before, but felt something was missing. My compassionate, person-centred approach weaves together Art Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Somatics, and traditional talk therapy for whole-system healing. Art is always an invitation to explore, and never a requirement. With a background in Neuroscience, I hold the deep connection between your brain and body, and with that, your innate capacity for growth and change. I walk alongside you as a guide, always honouring that you are the expert in your own life.

Navigating mental health struggles in adulthood can sometimes feel overwhelming and isolating. Between work, relationships, and everything else life throws at you, it’s easy to feel anxious, uncertain, or disconnected from what truly brings you happiness. You might find it harder to connect with the people who matter most to you, or feel like you’re losing touch with who you are amidst all the noise.

I work with clients and couples struggling with self-worth and unsustainable relationship dynamics.
Despite having a lot to be proud of, deep down, you feel inadequate. Racked with self-doubt, self-criticism, imposter syndrome, people pleasing, and other efforts to earn approval. You may also fear conflict, struggle with boundaries, and feel lonely and isolated. You shy away from expressing vulnerability to avoid "burdening" others, but you're more than willing to be there for them. In relationships, you may end up feeling unseen or uncared for, or you lose parts of yourself. You yearn to improve your relationship with yourself and connect in more authentic ways. So that you can belong more fully: to yourself, and to others.

In my life and work I have learned so much the importance of connection in healing. We need each other. As a therapist, I first anchor us in connection, and then through gentle personal exploration, trauma processing, and nervous system regulation, I support you to find fresh new ways of being. I specialize in working with people with intergenerational issues, neuro-complexity, CPTSD/PTSD, grief and loss, chronic health issues, anxiety, depression, anger, and issues of identity. People who reach out to me tend to be going through hard times and are ready to begin the deeper, messier work of healing.

At some point in our lives, we all feel overwhelmed, confused, stuck, or lost. These times can increase our stress and anxiety. In those times, we need understanding, validation, safety, and support to overcome our challenges. I aim to provide you with a safe place to share and process your current challenges. With a deeper understanding, we can then work together towards learning new skills and strategies that can help you move forward, build resilience, and better cope with any future obstacles.

I am committed to building a relationship that supports your unique needs, develops your strengths and fosters your innate ability to heal. Often, we aren’t afforded the time, opportunity or privilege to learn the most beneficial ways to sift through what comes our way. We tackle things as best we can using strategies learned from previous experiences. In some situations, our default strategies end up taking us further away from what we want. This can prevent us from fulfilling our needs - we may get stuck not knowing how to cope or how to move forward. I primarily use non talk-therapy modules of Structural Dissociation, EMDR, DBR.

Self Esteem Counsellors

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
