Hi there, I’m Stephanie! A little bit about me is that I have approximately five years of clinical experience. In 2016, I graduated from Shippensburg University with my bachelors degree in psychology and then continued at Shippensburg University to receive my masters degree in clinical mental health counseling graduating in 2018. I have worked in and with several different treatment modalities and settings with different populations to include inpatient behavioral health treatment with teens and adults in a psychiatric inpatient setting, inpatient and outpatient substance abuse counseling, and prison work.

The funny thing about life's hurts, they generally do not just get better on their own. Running from a problem is a race we will never win. My goal is to create a warm safe and relaxed place for you to explore, to discuss, to learn and maybe laugh. The outcome is for you to feel empowered in your life and to have HOPE. Changing or healing often require learning new skills so my approach is as much about coaching as it is about counseling. My primary counseling modes are Cognitive Dissonance and Reframing and REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy). Together we create the tools for HOPE that are custom made for you.

All psychological issues are ultimately existential in origin, entailing a confrontation with death, loss, meaning, purpose and value. All that we do (knowingly or unknowingly) is dedicated to deciphering these daunting and irrepressible demands of existence. Few are successful in resolving or even clearly conceptualizing these existential issues and their minds inevitably descend into despair, depression and anxiety. Some seek to assuage their suffering with psychoactive substances (illicit and licit) and this leads only to addiction and abdication of autonomy over one's authentic self. My System offers a solution.

I believe that a person moves in and out of their various life stages with the desire to learn and sometimes re-learn life lessons. I work with clients to enhance self-awareness, insight, and skill sets for managing life. Our therapeutic experience will be a joint effort in reaching your goals! I work with adult couples struggling in their relationships, communication, and living styles over all stages of life. I work with children and teens in their social, emotional, educational, and family systems. I see adults attempting to clarify and reach life goals involving education, work, independence, esteem, and healthy relationships.

Matt is a client-centered therapist, who, meeting his clients where they are, helps them to develop and accomplish their goals. He utilizes a systems-based conceptualization of group behavior to help his clients deal with issues in their work and home lives. Utilizing an eclectic blend of interventions to customize treatment to the client's needs, Matt helps his clients develop insights about themselves and their life circumstances, allowing them to discover new coping skills and uncover hidden resources. Matt helps all of his clients overcome their obstacles, develop resiliency, and think outside the box.
