We all experience challenges in our lives. My goal for nearly two decades has been to assist people with working through the many stressors that we face on a daily basis. From anxiety, depression, parenting issues, to improving self-love and self-care, I enjoy helping adults find ways to balance their lives and heal holistically. Many of us have struggled with negative self-talk, oftentimes impacting our ability to act. I would love to assist you with realigning your mind/body/spirit to a healthier way of thinking and living.

Starting therapy can be overwhelming, especially if you have been sitting with difficult feelings on your own, but here’s the thing, some of the scariest things are the most rewarding; and I am here to move into that with you. My practice is informed by my identity as a black woman, and I view the therapeutic relationship as a space that fosters a collaborative environment. I navigate spaces with openness, humor, and empathy, seeking always to understand others with grace and an appreciation of their autonomy.

Life is full of challenges that test our resilience and leave us questioning or doubting ourselves. Therapy is a place to get the support you need to move forward and discover new meaning, joy, and honesty in your relationships. While I tend to focus on the here and now of life’s obstacles, during therapy, we will likely explore past patterns and incorporate mindfulness to help you feel more in control in the future.

My practice includes individual therapy with adults 18+ focusing on mental health, identity, life transition and burnout concerns. My style is non-pathologizing, collaborative and individualized. I use an anti-oppression social justice framework and believe that problems exist outside of people, not inside of them. My role is to try to be helpful in ways that are personally meaningful to you as you identify what continues to be influential in your life.

Seeking therapy takes immense strength and courage. It can feel vulnerable to trust another human with your struggles, fear, and pain. From the beginning, I will do my best to listen deeply and carefully, respecting that you have been doing the best you can with what you’ve been handed in life. I believe that our symptoms often provide information about how we have had to adapt to our circumstances. I therefore strive to honor how you have had to cope while working towards alleviating your distress and deepening your connection with yourself and others.

I specialize in working with adults who have experienced trauma in childhood or adulthood. I have worked with Veterans for over 20 years, and have extensive experience with Evidence-Based Treatments for Trauma and PTSD. I work with each client to foster their strength, resilience, and zest for life. I also work with clients who want to find greater fulfillment in their relationships. I am deeply committed to offering a safe, warm, affirming environment for clients to heal.

My approach to therapy is one that prioritizes the creation of a relationship that is safe, mutual, and honest. I want my clients to feel empowered and free to explore themselves and grow into the person they wish to become. I am calm, warm, and active. I offer my clients feedback and challenge them in ways that encourage growth, often with some levity and humor. I value knowing my clients as a person and prioritize gaining an understanding and appreciation of their perspective. I work together with my clients to identify negative patterns in their life and provide the opportunity to create new, healthy experiences.

Our practice specializes in neuropsychological and psychological assessment for learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, traumatic brain injury and medical legal and forensic assessment, including child custody, fitness for duty and psychological and neuropsychological damages evaluations. We also specialize in treatment of PTSD, anxiety, dissociative disorders and traumatic brain injury. As well as testing we do psychotherapy, biofeedback, neurofeedback, EMDR, cognitive rehabilitation, and medical referral as appropriate and as needed.

I am a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in counseling with adults and older adolescents. I have a special interest and expertise in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and have significant experience with Exposure and Response Prevention and Dialectal Behavior Therapy Skills Training. I have worked with individuals who struggle with a variety of behavioral health issues to include but not limited to OCD, Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorders, as well as individuals who have difficulty managing emotions.

As a young adult I sought out counseling to help me navigate my life's issues. It felt most beneficial when a therapist, by listening and understanding me, in a nonjudgmental, supportive and educational way, seemed to meet me where I was at both emotionally and mentally- giving me hope, the tools, the time and the motivation I needed to heal.These healing experiences gave me the desire to help others. Thus following their positive examples, I have approached everyone's treatment on an individual basis- knowing everyone is different emotionally and mentally, and are coming from different life experiences.

I have been a Preferred Prescriber and completed BHRS/Wraparound evaluations for 20 years. I also work with adult women or men who are having transition issues such as anxiety and depression regarding changes in their lives.
