I am a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been in clinical practice for over 40 years. I have been teaching and supervising graduate and postgraduate professionals, as well as maintaining an active full time professional practice. I am married, have 5 grown children and 7 grand children. Christian Family Institute serves all persons, but specializes in being sensitive to faith issues, combining those resources with the best science from the mental health disciplines.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and Oklahoma Counseling Association (OCA). I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Counseling Psychology degree, both from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. My experience includes working with children, adolescents, adults and families in an outpatient setting as well as school-based setting. I incorporate solution-focused as well as cognitive-behavioral and reality based therapy solutions. I am EMDR fully trained.

Same day appointments possible, but I don't file insurance. It is my pleasure to work with people from various backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. My 20 years in the military and five plus decades of living has taught me life can be complicated, and people often get overwhelmed. Rather than condemn them I prefer to help them on their journey to a better quality of life. One of the greatest pleasures in my life is seeing my clients overcome their struggles.

I believe therapy is about change. My mission as a therapist is to help my clients find their way to creating balance and joy in their daily life. I believe all people have the ability to build a strong, healthy, and peaceful self. I specialize in treating such issues, among others, as anxiety, depression, trauma, anger management, relationship issues, parenting, marriage counseling, pre-marriage counseling, and divorce. In addition, I have substantial experience in substance abuse treatment.

Parents often call me and state they need help for their child and my first response is to treat the child but consider the whole family unit as a part of the therapy treatment plan.
