I am a dual-licensed clinical psychologist in NY and NJ. I have extensive experience working with individuals across the lifespan with special interest in treating adolescents and emerging adults. I also provide family sessions and can customize treatment to meet client needs. I am highly trained in evidence-based CBT modalities (e.g., ERP, ACT, HRT, ComB) and specialize in the treatment of anxiety, OCD, and related disorders comorbid with depression, ADHD, ASD, and behavioral regulation issues. I also have experience treating those facing difficult life transitions, family conflict, and identity crises.

I’m a licensed psychologist providing virtual psychotherapy services for children, adolescents, and families in New York and New Jersey, as well as in the 35 and counting PSYPACT states (please see the list below). My areas of specialty include anxiety, trauma, ADHD, early childhood issues, and immigrant family dynamics. I also help adults navigate various life transitions and parenting issues to foster connection, balance, and growth.

I always knew that I wanted to be a healer. The best description of what I do after 30 years of success is that I am a stress management expert for ages 2 and up. After training together in individual, family, and Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) my mother and I founded The Hamilton Practice in 1995. Working with survivors of childhood trauma and sexual abuse in Harlem for a combined seventeen years, we were stunned by the miracles that unfolded as we applied the power of connection and support. My mom left her body in 2021, so you will see only me when we meet, but you will be benefiting from the synergy of two generations.

I specialize in counseling to individuals and families coping with relationship issues, parent-child issues, and extended family issues that are exacerbated by alcohol and substance abuse.

Dr. Benanti's background includes two Masters Degrees and a Doctorate from Columbia University where he taught in the graduate division. Our Master Level Life Coaches are all Nationally Certified and each received over 250 hours of advanced training directly from Dr. Benanti. We work with adults and couples who want to experience less everyday stress and far more of the personal fulfillment that is available in each of our own unique lives.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 23 years of post-graduate training in the treatment of childhood, adolescent, and adult anxiety, depression, drug/ alcohol addiction, PTSD, and ADD/ADHD. I work with the family as a unit or individually if appropriate. I am trained in play therapy and have worked extensively with school and home behaviors. My style is warm, respectful, and interactive utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), in addition to being trained in conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments and implementing school and home Behavior Intervention Plans.

I earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Felician University. My passion stems from my life experience, growing up with a brother with severe Autism and OCD. I appreciate and value quality time with family and friends.
