Hello! My name is Michael Pinter and I specialize in counseling, psychoeducational assessment, and consultation. I provide services to individuals, couples, and families in my practice. Specifically, my services address issues with children, adolescents, and adults who present signs of: anxiety impulses, depression despair, obsessive compulsive behaviors, learning difficulties, relationship issues, life stage transitions, divorce challenges, or related problems. I have been a practicing clinical psychologist since 1973. During that time I have treated a wide variety of clients in the broadest array of clinical contexts. Although I am very comfortable in almost any clinical situation, at this stage of my career I tend to spend most of my time with adults of all ages having a wide variety of issues. Most particularly I work with those struggling with addictions ( both classic and process), mood and personality disorders. anxiety, depression, marital and other relationship difficulties, also chronic emotional and behavioral problems, and issues attendant to stage of life transitions.

With couples I'm neutral reframing from shaming or judging. My background is in EMS working alongside law enforcement, nurses and doctors, military, and firefighters. I’m empathetic towards individuals frequently in high stress situations. It does not matter how good of therapist I think I am, if my clients aren't benefiting from my services.
