Many people see therapy as a one-sided conversation, with little opportunity for interaction or getting to experience each other as real people. I can promise you that I am as real as it gets! I want to help you achieve whatever solutions and life changes you are looking for while enjoying the process as much as possible and experiencing yourself in new ways. Simply put, I don't believe therapy has to always be a painful thing. Regardless of the severity, I help individuals in all aspects of their relationships. Life can be complicated. It can be confusing. It can just wear a person out. Sometimes, just an objective listener is all we want, all we need. As a licensed counselor, an ordained minister, and what they call an acu-detox specialist; I can offer you a listening ear, an acupuncture treatment, and a balanced view of how to navigate this thing we call life. If your experiences with religion have left you filled with guilt and shame, a more balanced and realistic view of spirituality may be helpful to you. I am supportive of abstinence, Moderation Management, S.O.S., S.M.A.R.T., MAT, & all other forms of harm reduction recovery.

Reaching out takes great courage, especially when someone is seeking guidance. Life has the tendency to cause people to cope in ways that are not necessarily beneficial. They may develop problems like depression or anxiety as a result of stressors. Or, they may turn towards abusing substances as a way to change how they feel. Reaching out for help during this time may be scary and seem impossible. My goal, as a therapist, is to come alongside my clients so that they don’t walk alone through whatever may be troubling them. I hope to be able to help anyone struggling to deal with life on life’s terms.

My passion lies in empowering clients to overcome obstacles and realize their full potential, whether addressing addiction, depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, and/or trauma, I provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for exploration and transformation. Through individual and group therapy modalities, I strive to foster resilience, self-awareness, and meaningful connections, guiding each individual towards a life of fulfillment and well-being.

Every counselor, if they are honest, is seeking a client who is intelligent, funny, motivated, and has strong interpersonal skills. I am happy to work with those people, but I specialize in the more difficult cases. I like working with people who have had bad counseling experiences in the past. Those who know that they need change, but are unsure how to go about making those changes. Counseling is a collaborative relationship. My goal is not to fix your life, but to come along side you and help you move forward one step at a time.

My practice welcomes not only individuals and couples who are directly grappling with sexual addiction but also those who are dealing with related concerns such as intimacy issues, communication breakdowns, anxiety, and depression.

I assist clients dealing with addiction and the related co-occurring issues (anxiety, depression, anger, ADHD/ADD, stress, bipolar, schizo-affective, schizophrenic, etc.). All of my clients have experienced some type of trauma, PTSD, childhood emotional neglect, intergenerational family issues, spiritual emergency / psychosis, etc., and addiction has been the result. Clients who have been impacted are in my estimation actually highly sensitive people and highly spiritual people. I now offer an 11-Session Emotional Integration Training program that teaches you to manage your emotions in a skillful way putting the tools in your hands.

I myself struggled with Anxiety and Depression as a young person. I often like to joke that I took my first psychology class as a DIY project. As I discovered what worked for me, I realized that I wanted to share that knowledge with other people. I view therapy as a place to feel safe, express feelings, explore relationships, describe experiences, and (if necessary) revisit old wounds to heal from them. In my practice I am passionate about utilizing Positive Psychology, strength-based approaches and CBT to achieve better mental health.

As a therapist, my passion is helping others meet their goals. My primary emphasis is helping men, young adults and teens/older children with the issues they face. Besides counseling, I also have experience leading men in my local church and university. My work with teens in public school, drug rehabilitation and church settings enables me to help parents and their children as they navigate the challenges of adolescence.

My ideal client is someone who is trying to find their new purpose, someone who knows they can be better and are openly looking for change to happen in their lives, someone who is depressed, anxious, someone who is having difficulty with their relationships and they so much drama going on in their lives at this time and they just want everything to slow down and to be heard. My ideal client is someone who is having a difficult time with their addiction to drugs and alcohol and they're tired of running from themselves as they want answers and find ways to move forward. I have been working with individuals struggling with posttraumatic stress disorder, substance use, sexual addiction and mental health challenges for the past ten years. I have a real heart to walk alongside to encourage, support, and empower you to move forward in your recovery needs. I graduated from Liberty University in 2014 with a MA in Professional Counseling and completing a Doctoral level specialization in Community Care and Counseling specializing in treating trauma-related challenges. I approach recovery through the eyes of motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
