Online sessions are welcome as well.
Life can get rough sometimes, but that doesn’t mean we can’t talk about it. If you’d like someone to talk to who is straightforward with a dash of dark humor, we’ll probably be a good fit. I love discussing things that range from the mundane to deep spiritual and philosophical concepts, whether it’s helping people through depressive slumps, anxieties, or all the changes associated with big life transitions. I feel that all problems are the problem and not the person themselves—regardless of neuro-alignment, gender, sexuality, race or age.

I offer in-person and virtual sessions through my practice New Way North Counseling.
I work with professionals, athletes, entrepreneurs, graduate students, and other high performers who appear successful on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from who they are beyond their achievements. Many realize the strategies that once helped them succeed—perfectionism, pushing through, or tying self-worth to performance—are no longer serving them. Together, we will work to identify and let go of outdated survival patterns, empowering you to make decisions with greater confidence, build healthier relationships, and pursue success without sacrificing your well-being or sense of self.

You might be someone who looks “fine” on the outside but feels overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally exhausted on the inside. Maybe you overthink everything, feel stuck in old patterns, or carry experiences you’ve never fully had space to process. You want relief, clarity, and to feel more like yourself again—but without being told to “just think positive.” You’re looking for a therapist who feels human, safe, and real… someone who can help you slow down, reconnect with your body and emotions, and actually heal. If this sounds like you, I want to invite you to reach out and we’ll take the first step together.

Accepting new patients and continuing to provide therapy services via in person or Teletherapy.
The decision to seek therapy is difficult and personal. Not knowing all the answers to your life questions is natural. Often, people choose therapy during times of stress, discomfort, chaos, and emotional pain. It may also be when you are ready for changes or growth to happen in your life. I believe that within every individual lies the ability to overcome, learn, and preserver through the concerns that brought them to therapy.

The clinical approach I use to counseling is targeted to attend my client's needs. My preference is the Psychodynamic approach where the client and I explore the origins of their psychological discomfort and use the insights to the healing process incorporating changes in the present. Some clients however come to counseling with a sense of urgency, a need to work objectively in a specific problem with the aim of a faster solution focused to their crisis, and in these cases I support and stay present with the client's needs.

You might look like you’re holding it all together, but internally, your brain is doing the absolute most. You overthink decisions, second-guess yourself, set high standards, and somehow still feel like you’re not doing enough. Maybe ADHD makes it hard to stay organized, follow through, or keep up with everything on your plate. Maybe anxiety keeps you stuck in cycles of worry and self-doubt. Or maybe you keep finding yourself in the same relationship patterns (with partners, family, or friends) and you’re wondering, “Why does this keep happening?” You want to feel more in control, understand yourself better, and build healthier

We use an online portal to track documents, appointments, and payments so you never have to worry about missing any of that.
Do you worry if your experiences are "normal"? Do you struggle to feel happy with yourself? Does happiness seem unreachable? Don't worry, these are normal concerns! Many of my clients report starting therapy when all else has failed and that is okay. My clients often come to me worrying if something is "wrong" about them. I help my clients regain a sense of "normalcy" and rediscover the light in their lives. I enjoy using specific and quantifiable goal setting that is unique to each client so we can accurately gauge their progress over time. If you're a visual learner I can even put it on a graph!

FAQ - About Telehealth Therapy
Is online therapy as effective as in-person?
Numerous studies suggest that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy. However, further research is needed to determine if online therapy provides the same benefits across all client populations. Individuals with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, or those who may benefit from in-person check-ins, like those with eating disorders, may not experience the same level of benefit from online therapy. Nonetheless, the success of online therapy, much like in-person therapy, often hinges on the quality of the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client rather than the specific modality of therapy used.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of therapy conducted online?
One of the main advantages of online therapy is its convenience for both clients and therapists. It also allows clients who require specialized therapy to access a wider range of professionals than they could with only in-person sessions. Additionally, online therapy may be a more affordable option in some cases and often offers the same insurance benefits as in-person therapy. However, online therapy may not be suitable for everyone, especially those who value face-to-face interaction with a therapist. Therapists may find it more challenging to assess clients accurately in an online setting due to reduced nonverbal cues on camera. There is also the increased risk that disruptions caused by external factors, such as technology malfunctions, can hinder the therapy session. For these reasons, many therapists offer a "hybrid" therapeutic approach, alternating between seeing clients in-person and online.

Is online therapy suitable for children and adolescents?
Just like with adults, the accessibility and convenience of online therapy can greatly benefit children and adolescents. In fact, children and adolescents may be more accustomed to navigating online platforms than older adults, making online sessions feel more natural for them. Teens might also be interested in using additional online tools, such as therapist-recommended apps, as an adjunct to online therapy sessions. Apps for developing CBT skills, practicing mindfulness exercises, or tracking thoughts and moods can be helpful for teens receiving therapy. However, it's important to note that not all therapeutic modalities are well-suited to online therapy, especially those used with younger children. For example, play therapy, which helps younger children express their emotions, often requires in-person sessions to be fully effective.

Can I receive prescriptions and medication management with online therapy?
The ability for psychiatrists to prescribe medications through online therapy varies based on the medication and the states where the medical professional and client are located. While many prescribing regulations were relaxed during the COVID-19 pandemic, some states still enforce rules, especially concerning controlled substances, which may mandate an in-person visit before prescribing. Generally, however, medical professionals can prescribe non-controlled substances through online therapy sessions just as they do during in-person sessions.
