I have expertise in treating individuals who struggle with addictions, eating disorders, relationship issues, and traumatic experiences. Whether you work individually, as a family, or in one of my ongoing groups, you have the support and encouragement you deserve. I am a clinical psychologist, parenting coach, author, and workshop leader, in practice for over 35 years. I am also a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Therapy works best as a collaborative relationship between therapist and client - a process that encourages personal growth, behavioral changes, and self-awareness. While offering my experience and perspective, I encourage an interactive, respectful, and engaged therapy process. I am currently offering individual, couples, and family therapy through teletherapy throughout PA and in PSYPACT authorized states.

With all clients, my goal is to help facilitate a dialogue that will assist individuals in building confidence to engage in meaningful relationships, increase problem solving skills and overall self-worth. Working with the client to achieve these goals, I provide an empathic, holistic, and safe space where clients become empowered to work towards a better understanding of themselves, building on the strengths they already possess.

Hi, I'm Derik Moore, LCSW. I worked as an outpatient psychotherapist and clinical supervisor for 10 years in the community mental health realm prior to establishing my own practice. I began my career working with those living with HIV as an activist in the mid-1990s in Newark and New Brunswick, NJ, where I engaged in street outreach and advocated for a harm reduction approach. This work informed my commitment to public health and to exploring how economic and sociological factors play significant roles in the ways we move through the world. I have also been a musician for nearly 40 years and offer virtual and in-person drum lessons.

Bucks Support Services, located in Newtown & Buckingham, PA, is comprised of four speciality branches; Bucks Eating Support Collaborative, Bucks LGBTQ Center, Bucks Recovery Center. & Bucks Family Support Center. I am an experienced psychologist who helps adolescents and adults overcome a variety of mental health and life challenges. I specialize in adolescent and adult survivors of abuse and trauma. This includes childhood abuse, sexual abuse/assault, complex PTSD, and medical trauma. Another specialty of mine is chronic pain and illness, including syndromes that are difficult to diagnose and treat. I also particularly enjoy working with folks in the LGBTQ+ community. Lastly, I provide psychological assessment for ADHD in adults, as well as IQ and personality/diagnostic testing.
