Being a parent seems harder everyday. After trying everything, nothing seems to work. It feels helpless. Is there anything you can do? If your child seems to be living in other world, where there is no space for you, we need to find a way to reach out. If your child is out of control, leaving the house and/or being aggressive, we need to think what can be done. If your child is cutting, or increasingly more isolated, your influence is very, very important. Call me and let’s explore solutions. Together.

Both my clinical and personal experiences have taught me that, though we cannot control everything, we can control our behaviors, perspectives, beliefs, actions, and HEALING. I plan to equip you with the tools needed to promote your overall well-being and facilitate lasting positive change. In addition, I run a support group for women struggling with infertility.

Imagine a life in which your challenges - depression, anxiety, fear, loneliness - are no longer holding you back. Feeling worried, guilty, lost, or unsure of how to connect with others can feel uncomfortable and intimidating. When we worry, struggle to find meaning, or feel a lack of motivation and clarity, it can affect our mood, relationships, and overall experience. When your challenges are not holding you back, you can have deeper relationships, greater satisfaction with work & personal pursuits, and less worry about issues like finances, happiness, family, etc.

Having ADHD can sometimes feel like a daily battle with yourself to accomplish tasks, maintain relationships, and attend to your own needs, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Learning how to work with your ADHD rather than against it can be a transformative experience, and it would be my honor to accompany you on this delicate balancing act of a journey. Together in therapy, we can work to tackle the challenges of ADHD while also bolstering your strengths and coming into and honoring your most authentic self. I work to create a therapeutic space that is compassionate, constructive, and creative, and I can’t wait to welcome you in.

Of the 10,080 minutes in a week, you will have 50 minutes to walk with a companion on your journey as you tell your beautiful and unique story. If you are exploring your gender and/or racial identity, let's work toward identifying how YOU want to. Coming out and navigating life as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community can be scary, but we can work on making it a little easier for YOU. Exploring your spirituality can feel overwhelming, but we can reduce that feeling for YOU one step at a time. You may notice a theme in the work we can do together. That theme... it is YOU.

Let’s face it...sometimes life can feel overwhelming and you might be wondering if therapy can help. Let me tell you a little bit about myself and you can determine if we might be a good match. I work with female adolescents and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, transitions, parenting issues and trauma. I believe that we each have many strengths within us, even if it doesn’t always feel that way, and that each of us is the expert of our own life and knows what we need to do to cope, heal and feel complete. I also know that sometimes those strengths and solutions can feel elusive and that’s where I can help.

“The best way out is always through” (Robert Frost). This however, is easier said than done and can take a lot of courage. Courage that you are showing right now by looking for additional support. Finding the right therapist is all about finding the right fit for you. Your therapist has to be someone you can build a trusting relationship with and be vulnerable enough to work on yourself. I hope that I can be that person for you and/or your loved one. I have been working as a psychologist for 10+ years. The majority of my career has been providing evidence-based care to children, adolescents, and parents.

I aspire to make the world, or at least our little microcosm, a more kind and loving place. I believe therapy can help us become better versions of ourselves, deepen connection with each other, and bring more kindness to our relationships. Our innate capacity to heal and grow, both within and in relation with others, is strengthened by the guidance of genuine human connection.

I have spent 30 years helping individuals, couples and families address issues of substance abuse, co-dependency, adult children of substance abuse as well as the many life issues that contributed to these problems. As an expert in these areas, I love nothing more than helping others with these challenges. There is so much more to addiction and recovery than just not using. And even if a person has never used, just being in a dysfunctional family can lead to a lifetime of problems. I recognize the courage needed to reach out for help – and I know that it is worth the risk.

Just because you carry it well, doesn't mean it isn't heavy. You deserve more than just being seen. The world is a scary and ever-changing place. Dealing with uncertainty, transition, and challenges puts stress on relationships, and on personal values. Curiosity, mindfulness, and a dialectical approach makes it possible to find meaning, and even pleasure, in some of the most bleak situations, with the right support.

How can I find a therapist in Media?
Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
