In over 40 years of work as a clinical psychologist, it has become clear that therapy works best as a collaborative relationship between therapist and client, a process that encourages personal growth, behavioral changes, and self-awareness.
While offering my experience and perspective, I encourage an interactive, respectful, and engaged therapy process. I provide psychotherapy for adults and teletherapy throughout PA and in PSYPACT authorized states.
I am also a parenting consultant, author, workshop leader, and Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, so takes into account each client's unique needs. This can range from here-and-now, cognitive-behavioral techniques, to more in-depth exploration of past family patterns. I work with a range of issues, but also have specialties in anxiety, parenting concerns and the needs of gifted and twice-exceptional individuals.
I have practiced in various settings including inpatient medical, residential, and psychiatric facilities; outpatient mental health, eating disorder, behavioral medicine, women's health, and parenting programs; and private practice. I bring this experience and a respectful, collaborative philosophy to my work. I welcome the chance to meet with you!
