I have enjoyed working as a Counselor for over 10yrs and have worked with people from many different backgrounds and cultures. During this time, I have had experience working with children, adolescents, families and couples.

I became a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oklahoma in 2005. I use sensitivity in my approach, I'm open-minded, supportive and non-judgmental and focus on engaging the client where they are and working together to achieve goals for therapy. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and elderly. I have worked with couples, families, and foster parents. I use Solution Focused, Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Externalization and Narrative Therapy. I use Motivational Interviewing for assessments and building rapport. I use Mindfulness Based Therapy as well as Art Therapy for Stress Management.

Hello, my name is Christa Brown and I have the privilege of being in a field helping others. I will paraphrase an old Irish proverb to give an example of how I see the counseling relationship. "A tree alone in a storm may not have the best chance to survive or thrive, although, a tree that is amongst the forest in the storm has the best chance of survival and thriving." My hope is that in the counseling relationship my client's learn to draw from their own strength and the support of others to survive and thrive when they encounter storms in their lives.

Jeffrey is a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist OK #1280, Clinical Fellow American Association for Marriage, and Approved Supervisor American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Jeffrey is a member of Delta Kappa International Marriage and Family Therapy Honor Society. Jeffrey works with individuals and families who are struggling to navigate a variety of behavioral, emotional, relational, and social difficulties.

My approach to therapy involves focusing on the family unit, meeting each individual family member where they’re at while treating them as an important part of the therapeutic process. I do this by treating each family member equally and with compassion. I often get calls from parents asking me to help their child and my response is always the same… “Let's work together to help your kiddo.” Studies show that when parents are involved, kids recover from trauma significantly faster.

At LFS Counseling, our focus is person-centered care. We have many providers that specialize in specific areas of Behavioral Health, so finding the "right fit" is easy! We offer SoonerCare/Medicaid, Private Insurance, and affordable Self-Pay options for Behavioral Health Services. LFS also offers convenient access to Psychologists and Psychiatrists.

Not currently accepting new clients. Although at times overwhelming and daunting, therapy should be a place where each person feels accepted and welcome. With over 18 years of experience, I am comfortable working with a wide variety of individuals and problems including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, stress management, grief and trauma. I employ a variety of interventions to aid my clients in developing mindfulness, tolerance, emotions regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.

Sometimes, when the unexpected happens our worlds seem to change. Making sense of what happened can be overwhelming and leave us feeling numb, angry, or fearful. We often resort to isolating ourselves and shutting the doors on things that previously brought us joy. Perhaps we feel on high alert with a constant need to monitor the safety of ourselves and our loved ones. We want peace of mind and relief, but it feels out of reach.

Everyone deserves a space to share, confide and process their innermost thoughts and feelings. Why not allow your safe haven to be counseling?

Grief and loss presents itself in a basket of multifactorial components. Grief tugs at our hearts and minds through a significant loss or conflict. I have a strong passion for helping people who are struggling with grief from the death of a loved one, trauma, relationship issues, blended families, career issues, chronic illness, or life’s trials and tribulations. Believe it or not, we can even have grief from lack of boundaries and people pleasing. In a world where we tend to avoid grief and loss in hope it will simply disappear, we may find it creeping back in. This can be intentional or unintentional. I often hear “I feel stuck”.

I treat individuals in order to treat families with the understanding that the whole of the family system is greater than the sum of its' parts. Thirty five years in the business has taught me that anything and everything that affects an individual also affects the family system as a whole and vice versa.

I believe the most important aspect of a therapeutic relationship involves creating a safe space for people to process their difficulties without feeling judged, regardless of religion, sexual orientation, or ethnicity. I take a "person centered" approach to help people work toward their treatment goals at their own pace, helping them to lean on their own strengths and supports. I lean heavily into Internal Family Systems to help clients become aware of, understand, and accept the different parts of themselves and learn ways to integrate these parts so they can work together instead of against each other.

During the therapeutic process I empower clients to use their existing strengths.
