Britanie Ramirez
Licensed Professional Counselor, MA, LPC
Mustang, OK 73064
Hi, I’m Britanie and I believe healing happens in connection... and maybe over a few good laughs (and tears) along the way. I work with couples and individuals (ages 16 and up), with a heart for helping people reconnect; to themselves, to each other, and to what matters most. Whether you're showing up as a couple who feels more like roommates than teammates, or you’re coming individually carrying the emotional weight of motherhood, work, relationships, and everything else... you don’t have to do it alone. And if your faith is a meaningful part of your life, I’m happy to integrate faith-based counseling into our work together.

I specialize in teen girls, post-partum anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, new families, and helping moms reconnect to themselves after becoming parents.
I have several openings in the late mornings into early afternoons. From the teen years through adulthood, women experience unique seasons of life that deserve compassionate, thoughtful care and respect. I’ve combined my passion for teen girls, pregnancy, birth, women, and families with my professional counseling experience to support clients in building self-worth, strengthening relationships, and pursuing meaningful personal goals. My work is rooted in an attachment- and trauma-informed perspective, recognizing that many of our deepest wounds — and much of our healing — are connected to the quality of our relationships.

Many people find themselves struggling with hopelessness, anxiety, or managing everyday life experiences within their intimate relationships, parenting, or various stages of life.
Think of therapy as a workshop for you to develop skills and tools to better be able to manage/repair situations in the future, like a toolbox. Everyone’s experiences are unique, and no two situations are the same. My job is to help guide and equip you with tools to best approach these unique situations and how to use these tools in the future.

-Now Accepting Clients- We are all doing the best we can with what we have and what we know. Still, life is challenging and difficult to navigate when we are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or even numb. You don’t have to have it all figured out to take the first step toward feeling better. Session with me might look like: slowing down and experiencing yourself differently in the present, exploring the past with curiosity and compassion, changing patterns that may no longer serve you, or all of the above.

My goal is to provide clients with a safe and judgment-free environment, helping individuals find their ability to create a satisfying life through collaboration and comprehensive care. Healing is not linear, and it does not happen overnight, but meaningful chance is possible. Many struggles one carry whether anxiety, trauma, self-doubt, or emotional overwhelm are rooted in experiences that were never fully processed at the time that they occurred. I offer EMDR as a structured but deeply personal way to revisit those experiences safely and allow the mind and body to resolve them. I look forward to being part of a healing journey.

Life doesn’t pause for us to heal. Our kids still need packed lunches, relationships still need tending, and the world keeps moving even when something inside you feels frozen. I work with people who are carrying trauma, overwhelming feelings, and struggling with moving forward. Oftentimes, young children navigating big feelings and behaviors, people stuck in patterns that don’t serve them, and individuals working through trauma that’s made the world feel less safe. I’m not afraid of the hard stuff. I stay grounded and steady so you don’t have to carry it alone.

I imagine therapy as engaging in a process or strategy for growth. Sometimes growing is a simple step of strength and enrichment towards goals. Sometimes growing is a journey from pain through suffering into wholeness. I believe your true self was made in the image of God, to experience life that is full and abundant. Many adversities can impact the journey towards wholeness. I honor your starting place, and I look forward to partnering with you as you redeem your sufferings and restore your peace and hope.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
