Stryker Behavioral Health (SBH) is excited to announce that we opened in Marietta, Georgia. We are eager to begin working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, financial challenges, relationship difficulties, and/or life transition issues. Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality, personalized therapy services to individuals, couples, families, and groups. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling. I have served in the capacity of clinician, teacher, coach, and mentor to adults, adolescents, and children. I am the founder and CEO of two organizations (A Safe Space LLC and Camp Mdogo Kondo). A Safe Space LLC, is designed to eradicate the stigma of mental health in our communities by providing a safe space to share emotions and feelings. Camp Mdogo Kondo (Young Warriors), a youth summer camp for at-risk boys.

I am an experienced, effective professional treating individuals with a broad range of conditions. Grounded in the belief that people inherently possess the knowledge and ability needed, most need help to break through the emotional defenses that obscure their perspective. I also have substantial experience counseling men, twenty-something's, and troubled adolescent males. Young adults can be challenging and having raised two myself, I understand how difficult it can be! I create a safe, comfortable, & non-judgmental environment for change.

My areas of clinical focus are around men's issues and with members of the LGBTQ community. I'm committed to providing a safe and affirming environment where you can process your feelings, no matter how difficult or uncomfortable. I'm not the kind of psychologist who sits silently and nods while you do all the work. I'm an active therapist and work collaboratively to help you increase self-awareness and identify a healthier path. Additionally, I draw on different theoretical approaches to adapt my work to your needs, but work primarily from a relational psychodynamic perspective.

Dr. Navarrete-Aguilar and his team at the Counseling Institute of Atlanta are bilingual therapists (Spanish and Portuguese) who specialize in immigration-related issues. We have helped many clients and their families with their immigration cases. We can complete a clinical evaluation for Waivers, U-Visa, VAWA, Cancellation of Removal, T Visa, and Political Asylum cases.

"My passion and motivation is to work with those dealing with alcohol and drug diseases, relationship issues, marriage issues, parenting conflict and behaviors, and dual diagnosis. I have 20 plus years of working with others and 26 years of sobriety. I am a devoted Counselor with extensive knowledge in Motivational Enhancement Therapy and CBT with adults adolescence, and couples. I work with the person where she/he is currently. I use powerful counseling and motivation to empower the individual to choose the journey and I help provide the skills, knowledge, support, compassion, understanding, experience, and a road map to success."

My family oriented practice is balanced between adolescents and adults. I work with individuals, couples and families. I use a variety of counseling approaches in order to best fit each individual client and their needs. My goal and desire with every client is to do my best to see the world through your eyes and understand your experience in order to best provide the kind of support and encouragement you seek.

I love working with children, families, couples and individual adults who are ready for immediate change and results. I am extremely positive, encouraging and results focused. I specialize in brief therapy and coaching models for highly motivated clients who desire to feel hope, change and success as quickly as possible. I love challenges and work with the entire system (school, corporation, team, parents, mentors, etc.) to realize lasting change and happiness. I also love to teach via workshops, webinars and especially public speaking. I am also extremely respectful of combining religion and psychology!

I am a holistic practitioner who works with adults and teens from a mind-body-spirit framework. I have a passion for helping clients uncover and integrate trauma & anxiety stored in the body, through EMDR and polyvagal therapeutic approaches. I am welcoming to clients navigating integration, spiritual awakenings, exploring shadow work and processing transpersonal issues around consciousness.

I know what it's like to struggle alone. You feel like you're crazy, or something is wrong with you and no one seems to care. Trust me, I know how you feel. I work with adults who are exhausted from doing it on their own, desperate to get unstuck and want to achieve the best version of themselves, but have no clue how to do it. I specialize in depression, anxiety, grief, family, trauma therapy, life transitions, substance misuse, and dual diagnoses. I find great pleasure in addressing men’s issues and bringing a strong accepting presence to areas of the male dynamic of family, dating, grief and life issues. I have experience working with (age 19+) Young Adults, Adults, Elders (65+), and Veterans. My role includes providing a safe space to explore your life, help identify and remove any barriers to having a healthier existence.
