My office offers teletherapy play sessions with children and is also easily transformed into a space comfortable for adolescents, adults, and couples. For more than 15 years, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults with behavioral and emotional challenges. My professional experience consists of working in a variety of settings including: in-home therapy, outpatient, and group practice. My clinical areas of specialty include: anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, OCD, autism and trauma.

Joanna (Jo) Krasnisky is a Holistic Psychotherapist and Spiritual Guide, currently in New Jersey. They work with individuals, children and families, groups, and companies. Jo offers an authentic presence and array of practical and transformative tools. Many of Jo's clients come in when they have realized they want to feel more life purpose and change relationship, behavioral, or communication patterns. Jo is particularly passionate about serving children, the LGBTQ+, and the aging community. One of the most important factors in the success of therapy is the creation of a safe, confidential space. In this setting an individual can express all the thoughts, feelings and beliefs which they often feel unable to share, for fear of judgement or disappointing others. Clients often relate a great sense of relief when they verbalize these difficult or confusing thoughts and find that they are supported and validated. Once these inner voices are freely and safely expressed a client can more effectively identify patterns of beliefs which limit or alter and often hinder their efforts to feel whole and at peace.

My ultimate aim is to teach clients to become their own therapist. I facilitate self-reflection to gain insight into maladaptive thoughts and behaviors. I foster self-compassion, coping skills, and mental fortitude in facing stressors, problems, and crises. I believe in empowering clients to make positive changes beyond the near future and build resilience in facing challenges for a lifetime.

There is little in this life I have found more uplifting then helping people overcome challenges and return to experiencing life in the present moment, where there is true peace, joy, and stillness. I believe in the power of each individual to take control of their lives and in doing so - accomplish their goals, feel happy, present and alive. We all benefit from connecting to a trusted source we can share deeply personal things with, opening ourselves in vulnerable ways with no risk of judgment. Despite having reached the pinnacle of my profession after nearly two decades of practice, it was my own struggle with learning disabilities, dual diagnosis and other medical conditions and issues, that changed my perspective and my life. I came to appreciate an approach which focuses on the here and now; solution focused and goal oriented. I found little solace in traditional therapeutic approaches which focused largely on the past, and went on for months with no real relief nor positive impact on my life or functioning. As such, I strive to help my clients achieve their goals and actualize their dreams using a coaching approach.

I hold a Masters in Teaching, BA in Psychology, NJ Teachers License and a Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher Certification. Currently, I serve in schools implementing my Mindfulness Curriculum and am a Youth Mindset Mentor. My mission is to self empower our youth with tools to self regulate and self heal.
