People make the choice to start therapy for many reasons: maybe you’ve experienced a loss, are finding it hard to feel in control of your life, or want to better understand who you are. I’ll work with you to build a relationship in which you can learn about how you are in the world and examine patterns and ideas from the past that might need updating for where you find yourself now.

You might be autistic or have ADHD, formally diagnosed or still figuring it out, or simply have always sensed you were different.
In our work together, you get to stop performing. We look honestly at what's been driving your patterns, and what it might feel like to finally be comfortable in your own skin, rather than just coping. Alongside conversation, there may be moments of reflection, mindfulness, imagery, or creative exploration, whatever best supports your process.

I am an integrative psychotherapist that works with young people and adults. I have a calm and compassionate approach and value the importance of building a safe and trusting relationship with my client. I use a range of approaches depending on what the client needs. I can work creatively or also offer talking based psychotherapy. Sometimes words may not be present, and art making or writing can allow the individual to express difficulties in a non invasive way. I respect each individuals uniqueness, and offer warmth and compassion to support them through their journey.

I am an integrative therapist that qualified in 2008. I’ve worked with a range of clients with diverse presenting issues and I have 17 years’ experience of working with adults presenting with historic, childhood sexual abuse. I have a passion to help those who feel defeated but haven't quite learnt the tools to overcome. Finding the right counsellor can seem a bit overwhelming. This is why the counselling relationship is very important to me and is key in helping to achieve your goals. I initially use the Person Centred approach to create a safe, non-judgemental, contained, therapeutic space for you and will work at your pace.

ADHD, High-functioning anxiety, sensitivity, hormonal issues and perfectionism overlap so much that many people end up using the wrong tools for their wiring, and that’s why it can feel like nothing ever sticks.
When you’re struggling with overthinking, poor focus, memory lapses, intense emotions, or decision fatigue, it can be hard to know what’s really going on.

My specialisms are in ADHD, narcissistic abuse, binge eating, anxiety, depression, relationship problems and life transitions.
Existential psychotherapy is a relational approach, examining in detail our relationship with ourselves, others, and the world around us. I incorporate bodywork to facilitate trauma healing. Furthermore, I use inner child work to help clients become aware of their internal dialogues, understand their archetypes, and foster healthier self-relations.

I am trained in using the DISCO to assess and diagnose autism and the DIVA-5 to assess & diagnose ADHD.
As well as diagnostic assessment, much of my work involves working therapeutically with individuals with mental health difficulties which often result from being misunderstood. These include anxiety, depression, self harm, OCD and behaviours which others may find challenging. I offer therapy to individuals, couples and families and consult to organisations.

ADHD Counsellors
When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
