ADHD Counselling in North London, London

I work keeping in mind neurodivergence, as most of my clients present with autism, ADHD, AuDHD, and other ways of being.
I am a counsellor working online with neurodivergent individuals who wish to improve their existing relationships or bring new ones that they need into their lives. Are you feeling unsupported in life or lacking connections with people who really understand you? Do you wish you had closer relationships, more people to share your innermost thoughts with, or more authenticity where people know the “real” you? You may have been harmed by previous relationships, perhaps even by narcissistic abuse, and this has knocked you off course?

I support neurodivergent clients, whether you have a formal diagnosis or are simply exploring traits like ADHD, autism, or other forms of neurodiversity.
Hello, I’m Megan, a qualified integrative counsellor and therapist.
Over time, we develop beliefs about who we are and how we should be. These beliefs can shape our behaviours, often without us realising. You might find yourself stuck in familiar patterns, unsure where they come from or how to move beyond them. In our work together, we'll explore these patterns with curiosity, awareness, and compassion—helping you reconnect with what truly feels right for you.

My specialisms are: ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, alcohol and substance use disorder and
sexual abuse.
We are all influenced by the people in our lives and the experiences we have had both past and present, all of which serve to shape and define us. Sometimes we need help in understanding how the culmination of these factors can get in the way of being able to live life fully and with ease. Maybe you're looking for relief from the pain of anxiety or depression. You could be struggling with life changes or loss. You may want a better relationship with yourself and/or those closest to you. I offer a non-judgemental space in which I can help you to explore your feelings, beliefs and patterns of behaviour.

I am experienced working with children and adults, across a variety of difficulties including those related to ADHD and Autism.
Hello, I’m Isabel, a Clinical Psychologist at Oak Tree Practice. I’ve had a deep interest in psychology and understanding people for as long as I can remember and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to do this as my job. Through my training, I’ve gained experience working with adults, young people and families in a range of settings, supporting people through a range of challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression and trauma. Working in these diverse settings has given me insight into how different environments can shape our mental health and it has inspired me to take a compassionate, individualised approach with each person

After 20+ years as a medical doctor, and following a personal late diagnosis of ADHD, I now work as a CBT therapist and write about adult ADHD .
CBT that isn't specifically adapted for ADHDers often doesn't land and can even make depression and anxiety worse. As an ADHDer myself, I use scientifically proven techniques that I have adapted, through experience, to optimise your treatment plan. I email all session notes to you after each session, to support your memory and intentions.

I have lived experience of BPD and ADHD, and combine this with a robust trauma-informed practice built around foundations of meaning, identity, and personal growth.
Existing in the modern world can be exhausting and overwhelming. Every day we face countless demands to be met, decisions to be made, and responsibilities to be upheld, and sometimes it can feel impossible to give yourself the attention that you need. Therapy is a space where, for just a short time, you can put all of those things aside and enable yourself to become the kind of person you have always wanted to be, and achieve the things you have always wanted to achieve. We will work together to piece together your story as you would want it to be told, to figure out who you are and how you came to be, and enact lasting change.

I do a lot of work with clients with ADHD , anxiety, attachment issues and OCD.
I have the knowledge that lots of people have been suppressed in life and have lost their authenticity, which can create anxiety, depression, low self esteem, addiction and much more.

I work mostly with autistic and ADHD adults and people who think they may be neurodivergent.
My approach to therapy is person-centred, which means I believe that you know best what's right for you, not me. I'm there to be accepting, curious and safe, and to help you find your own answers. I've found this works especially well for neurodivergent people.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
