If you're feeling disconnected, distracted, and detached from your life, it may be time to look at why. Why can't I connect, why am I not able to just "get over" my past, or why does it all feel so meaningless? Maybe there are other questions, like “what am I doing with my life” or “who do I want to be?”. It’s okay to take time that's just for you, to look at your life and see both the big picture and explore the often overlooked details. With the right support, you can feel more present, connected, and in control of your life.

Feeling “defeated,” “overwhelmed,” “stuck,” or even empty? Life throws challenges our way, especially during teenage years and early adulthood. This stage is packed with changes and the pressure to balance school, family, friends, and work, while also feeling the need to meet certain expectations. It can feel really lonely and confusing to navigate all of this, especially if you don’t feel supported. I'm here to help.

I am a registered psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. I have been working in mental health for over 20 years supporting individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, family issues, grief, as well as those who feel stressed or “stuck.” We are all unique, so over the years, I have developed a background in different counselling approaches because there is no one-size-fits-all solution for everyone. I use new, cutting-edge treatments informed by neuroscience, like EMDR and Brainspotting. I also practice more traditional “talk” therapies, like CBT.

Body-based tools, Compassionate Inquiry, and Brainspotting are all incredible techniques that help you explore and grow—within the safety of our sessions.
Hi, I am Krista. Before anything else, I just want to say: sometime's life is not where we want it to be, and that is hard. Specifically for women. But it doesn't have to stay that way! There are tools you and I can use to manage and let go. That anxiety, or the pain you hold from that relationship ending. Maybe even some lingering depression connected to your self worth and past beliefs. Together, we will work through these tough parts of life. We will build self-esteem. We will release stuck traumas. We will re-connect to our bodies to cultivate a deep knowing of who you are. Lets discover your inner worth.

My approach integrates various modalities such as Brainspotting, CBT, SFBT, and IFS.
Proficient in Urdu and Punjabi. Despite having a deep understanding of oneself and a solid commitment to personal growth, we can find ourselves stuck in repetitive patterns. Even while recognizing the patterns, restrictive beliefs and behaviours, often subconscious in nature, can hold us back and affect our everyday life and relationships. This recurring cycle is influenced by unresolved past traumas and experiences affecting our lives. If you can relate, please know you are not alone. Many introspective individuals face similar challenges as they try to find ways to move forward. Imagine a life free from the burdens of your past.

Brainspotting Counsellors

How does brainspotting work?

Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?

Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?

Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?

A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
