Everyone has challenges in life as these challenges and issues come up they feel they have to meet them alone. What I have found in life is if I talk with someone and be open and honest, I realize I am not alone. Whether I am regretting the past, or trying to form a better future, there is no way to go through life without facing difficulties. There are issues with relationships, loss of loved ones and trying to live life on one's own terms. I ama solution focused clinician; we will not dwell on your issues but form a plan to go forward in a deliberate fashion.

I am a holistic therapist specializing in anxiety, grief/ loss, life transitions, trauma resolution, codependence, wellness, self-care and empowerment.
Starting therapy, or beginning again with a new therapist, is a big step. Clients often call me when they realize things are going to change or when traditional talk-therapy has reached its limit. If you are struggling with anxiety, trauma, or grief/ loss, things can seem overwhelming. You can reach the other side, with a deeper sense of your purpose and your spiritual nature. If you are spiritually/metaphysically based, if you believe you co-create your reality, if traditional therapy is no longer helping, I understand your unique perspective. My frame of reference is deeply rooted in the synergy of the mind-body-spirit connection.

Imagine struggling with grief, pet loss, or anxiety and feeling overwhelmed. You need a safe, non-judgmental space where you can express your feelings and feel truly understood. Sometimes, we disconnect from our emotions and bodies while trying to “keep it together,” but our feelings eventually catch up. I can help by showing you how to connect body symptoms to your experiences, which can aid in understanding and managing your emotions better.

Many people take better care of their vehicles than we do themselves. If your vehicle starts showing signs of breaking down, you will find some help. But how many of us will ignore the warning signs of depression, anxiety, family conflict, addiction, or suicidal thoughts? If we could write our own scripts, none of us would deal with debt, death, infertility, miscarriages, grief, job loss, chronic pain, toxic stress, infidelity, PTSD, obsessive thoughts, or issues related to social media. But you can write a script for recovery! Just call me. I’ll journey with you. I’ll help you find your way back to a more whole, healthy, you.

Most of my clients present with stress and depression either from grief or issues related to identity. These problems typically affect the way they are moving through the world, their relationships, their life satisfaction, and their understanding of themselves. My clients are typically searching for answers and understanding. They want to be able to live their lives instead of being trapped by trying to survive.

Time, understanding, and support are the bridges to restoration and recovery in the aftermath of human loss and crisis.
I do my best work with people who have experienced years of disappointment and hurt. Many of my clients struggle with divorce, drug use, family problems, childhood hurts, church hurt, bullying, sexual abuse, bereavement, guilt, low self-esteem, and trauma. Many of my clients have been in therapy for more than three years and have, for the most part, given up on treatment because they do not feel that it has helped them. I work well with people who feel no one cares about them and want to give up.

Greetings! I am a fully licensed clinical social worker in Georgia since 2011, with certifications in oncology and palliative care. I became a therapist because I want to help people find their way and their voice through life’s challenges, particularly those whose lives are impacted by cancer, chronic or terminal illness, or grief and loss. In difficult times, finding solace and empathy is essential. I believe we all have the capacity to grow and pursue a life with meaning, especially when facing a crisis. Compassion, honesty, and humor all factor into my approach in helping you discover (or remember) your resilience and strength.

Are you grappling with the deep ache of loss after losing a loved one? Do you struggle with a nagging inner critic that tells you you're not good enough? Perhaps anxiety keeps you constantly worried, with racing thoughts or overwhelming fear. Maybe you're supporting a loved one through incarceration or mental illness. The emotional toll of these experiences can leave you feeling physically drained and emotionally isolated. You may wonder how to move forward when fear, shame and stigma feel overwhelming. If any of these resonate with you, you don't have to go it alone.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
