Navigating life's many obstacles is challenging and exhausting to say the least. Then problems show up and recruit us into identifying with unwanted stories about ourselves. These intrusive stories work hard to paint a picture of a life of inadequacy, failure, and stuck-ness while simultaneously erasing our once-dynamic, multi-faceted identities. Even further, the problem-story seeks to limit if not annihilate our creativity, hopes, and possibilities for how we think about ourselves and our relationships.

Life can get complicated and there is no handbook on how to handle things like depression, anxiety, addiction and relationship problems. It is important to know two things: 1. you are not alone, 2. challenges are always opportunities to grow and change your life. You are probably here because it's time to "do something different." Let us help guide you through this journey!

I work with individuals, couples, and families who are seeking consultation on a variety of issues, including anxiety, grief, loss, relational concerns, work-related stress, and perinatal and postpartum concerns. My approach is non-pathologizing, in other words, I see my clients as more than and separate from the problems they encounter—I see them as worthy, knowledgeable, and dignified people desiring a better way.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which suggests that suffering is partly caused by trying to sail away from pain. The result is that you never quite make it ashore, leaving you feeling lost in the sea of life. I work to expand your repertoire of behaviors by increasing awareness, openness, and movement toward your values. I believe in fostering a welcoming environment where awe and wonder can be experienced.

Change can feel impossible. No matter how badly we want it, we feel stuck in a loop trying the same things over and over again. We want relief, for things to feel easier, but it can feel hopeless constantly fighting the same battles. Despite this, I do believe we are all inherently resilient. We possess unique strengths, but they get shielded from our view because of how societal expectations and past experiences box us into how we think we ‘should’ be or act. We no longer see ourselves as who we actually are, but rather who the world has told us we are. We want to hold more hopeful beliefs about ourselves and the future.

I believe in creating a nonjudgmental space where you can come as you are- not the perfect, polished version you may feel pressure to be in the world. I bring my own life experience, blended with extensive training and evidence-based therapy practices to meet you where you are currently and work together to take you where you want to go. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process and prioritize working on client-identified treatment goals at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I became a psychotherapist because everyone needs “that person” in their life who will always believe in them, support them, and not judge them based on their past. As we all continue to navigate life’s transitions and changes, there are points where we find ourselves needing extra guidance and support. Whether you are currently thriving or struggling in life, deciding to seek therapy can be a challenging, rewarding, and life-changing experience. As a therapist, I strive to be “that person” by providing a non-judgmental, warm, and compassionate environment that fosters growth.

People who enter therapy are the bravest people in the world. The only difference between you and everyone else is that they are choosing to suffer in silence (or not so much silence), and you have decided that you deserve better. You want more. You may have some obstacles in your way, but with a little help there will be better road up ahead. My job is to walk with you, sometimes offering tools that I have picked up along the way, sometimes just listening, always being present. Please click on my website link below for more about me and how I work.

I work with sensitive, thoughtful people who are tired of overfunctioning and under-feeling. They’re tired of cycling through anxiety and detachment. They want to live in a way that feels grounded and honest, not shaped by other people’s needs, opinions or timelines.

Life can be challenging at any age, and the reasons are often complex. You might be coping with a mood disorder, anxiety, behavioral issues, trauma, family conflict, or something else entirely. Talking through those thoughts and emotions that are swirling inside can bring relief—and I’m here to support you through that process. Building trust and forming a meaningful connection with my clients is the part of my work I value most. I am also trained to work with children and offer consultation to their caregivers. Together, we can explore ways to improve the home environment and better navigate emotional and communication challenges.
