My couples therapy begins with communication skills training. The skills, agreements, and tools approach to relationship conflict is concrete, practical, and simple. My Blueprint for Reconnection helps partners see that their first words in response to anger can express partnership, not opposition. I train couples to use powerful, connecting first words!
32 years using EMDR. 30 years anger management/violence experience. Personally familiar with the recovery work of Bill Wilson for 44 years. I think I'm very good at helping both partners in a relationship come to understand each other while minimizing blaming. I can admit when I've made a mistake. Abuse is not tolerated or avoided as a subject.
