**Currently accepting new clients** In my practice, I specialize in helping
women
through trauma and life transitions, whether that be maternity, pre/post-natal, or grief. I believe a successful therapeutic relationship is created in partnership with each client to foster safety, compassion, and growth. An effective therapy process provides space for transforming your pain and distress into a capacity for stronger coping skills, more satisfying relationships, and a more authentic sense of self. When a person actively engages the world with authenticity, it will increase their awareness, self-confidence, and sense of self.

I hold the sacredness of authenticity, humaning alongside other humans. I focus on working with
women
, particularly
women
of color, to show up to the brutal, sweaty, and liberating work of tending to your life while challenging oppressive systems that want humans to stay small. Together, we examine trauma and pain with self-compassion, address avoidance, build vocabulary around emotions to expand your knowing, and work together to enrich relational bonds. I would love to hold space for you!

As a queer bi-racial
woman
, I find it of the utmost importance to honor my client's experience, and to hold space for the impact each individual's intersectionality has on their lives.
Difficult conversations are my specialty. I offer a compassionate and accepting space for my clients to explore the stress and struggles that keep them from becoming who they want to be. The adolescents and young adults I work with often come to me feeling stuck and unsure what move to make next. By connecting to your desires, while coping with your fears, you can learn to put yourself first and to live your life for you. You can count on me to shine a light on even the littlest of wins while we explore new ways of navigating the world.

Would you like to let go of concerns about your weight and body image? Is emotional eating one of your primary coping mechanisms? Many
women
, across the life span, struggle with issues around food, their bodies, and self confidence. Stress, all-or-nothing thinking, and perfectionism, among other issues, can all get in the way of living more fully. I work holistically with
women
, as I believe that all aspects of our lives, from sleep and nutrition to relationships or past trauma, are integrally related. We will work together to develop the insight, skills, and tools you'll need to achieve your goals.

I love helping couples (new and veteran) discover the underlying needs below their too-frequent bickering (read: fighting). It's magic when clients begin to see each other and communicate in new ways. I'm also passionate about helping individuals find new tools for navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, and BPD. There's nothing better than a client reporting that skills we practiced in session helped them find relief. Another speciality I have is supporting
women
(and their partners) with all things perinatal: infertility, miscarriage, maternal mental health, and parenting challenges. It really takes a village.

Do you find it hard to shake feelings of emptiness? Perhaps you are stricken with a grief that you don’t quite understand. Do you feel trapped by a nagging feeling of being “broken” or an “outsider”, like a stranger in your own skin? Maybe you are privately struggling with unrelenting loneliness and at the same time find it hard to trust others. People may tell you that you had a fine childhood, but it doesn’t mean that you didn’t face difficulty and endure trauma. Everyone experiences life uniquely. Our past––and how we each process it––can impact our present and impair our ability to function with resilience and ease.

Being a
woman
in America in 2023 is not easy. A mentor of mine once said that she did not envy my experience as a
woman
today. She grew up in a different time, a time when she was expected to be a good mother for her children and a responsible homemaker for her husband. Today, beyond these roles, there is a subtle, quiet undercurrent of expectations including, but by no means limited to, being a “good” wife, sister, friend, and neighbor (what does “good” mean anyway?), a career
woman
, an impromptu party host with a meticulous home, and a selfless volunteer in the community, all while maintaining a size 2 figure.

My practice specializes in helping
women
to overcome these challenges.
You want to be the best version of yourself, but there’s never enough time for all you need to do. You try to be productive at work, but can’t focus and criticize yourself. When around loved ones, you feel distant and numb… but don’t tell anyone your problems due to fear of being a burden. You usually feel stressed, annoyed, or sad; like an empty shell of your true self. There’s also constant tiredness, yet it’s hard to relax or sleep. Instead thoughts are on an exhaustion loop of worries, errands to get done, or a looming sense something might go wrong. If this sounds familiar, it may be due to a type of stress, anxiety, or trauma.

Are you a multicultural couple wanting to set boundaries, discuss power and privilege, and improve communication; a Black
woman
professional overwhelmed by stress and trauma; a young adult desiring to develop your racial identity? I look forward to joining you on the path towards greater understanding and acceptance. My mental health and wellness approach centers on compassionate collaboration and direct truth-telling, and much of our work will challenge traditional ways of existing and relating. I value empathy, justice, and racial equity and believe in owning the impact of our words and actions rather than our intentions.

How can I find a therapist in Los Angeles?
Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
