We all need support to maneuver our way through the uncertainties that life can bring - traumatic experiences, loss of a loved one or even struggles with self esteem.  Having a safe space to sort out these thoughts and feelings is key. I will use my holistic approach to focus on healing the whole person. We will work together to build resilience and develop skills to help you on your journey so you can feel confident while facing life's challenges.

We offer a variety of techniques to guide you into creating a pathway to healing and a direction that feels increasingly aligned with your own sense of inner core purpose. Over the years of counseling others, I have developed a specialty in working with depression, codependency issues, dual diagnosis & survivors of abuse. Since relocating to the area in 1999, I have been focusing on working with individuals, families, couples and groups. I lead two therapeutic support groups for women. I am Willian"Perry" Hall. As a licensed psychologist, I offer individuals, couples and families psychological evaluation and treatment for difficulties and/or disturbances of mood, behavior and thought. Whether one is experiencing problems with anger, depression, anxiety, relationships, school/work performance, substance abuse, or several other common issues, I follow an individualized evaluation with aggressive efforts to efficiently resolve one's distress in a personally meaningful way. Ongoing maintenance, personal growth/development and utilization of available resources are then encouraged to support your therapeutic progress and guard against relapse.

My goal in working with clients is to help them shift their relationships with success, failure, fear, and change in an effort to experience a more meaningful life. As an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)- and EMDR-oriented professional, I strive to help my clients face their less pleasant private events in the service of committing to valued action. As we work together, my clients and I strive to identify what matters, clarify the things that stand in our way, choose to make a mindset shift, and commit to doing things that matter on a deep level.

Dr. Terry Lusher, Psy. D., L. P. C., is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of West Virginia. He started Encouraging Words, Inc. along with his wife Deborah in 1996. As a Vietnam veteran, he is able to relate to survivor and trauma recovery issues. Terry brings a wealth of professional skills and personal experiences to his therapeutic relationships. He spent about twenty years working with emotionally and behaviorally disturbed adolescents in treatment programs in Texas, Oklahoma, North Carolina, and West Virginia.

Serving adults, 18 years and up. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor, graduate of Liberty University, holding a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I use an integrative approach to counseling based on the unique needs of each client. Recognizing the strengths and resources one already has as well as the potential for change within the human spirit, I view individuals through a lens of positivity that guides the therapeutic experience. My professional experience includes culturally inclusive work with teens and adults. I also work with couples to improve communication, rebuild trust, and increase emotional connection.

Hometown Healing is a family owned practice. Brynn and Jesse Simmons established the practice in 2020 to provide the community with a new approach to therapy and overall wellness.
