I am Willian"Perry" Hall. As a licensed psychologist, I offer individuals, couples and families psychological evaluation and treatment for difficulties and/or disturbances of mood, behavior and thought. Whether one is experiencing problems with anger, depression, anxiety, relationships, school/work performance, substance abuse, or several other common issues, I follow an individualized evaluation with aggressive efforts to efficiently resolve one's distress in a personally meaningful way. Ongoing maintenance, personal growth/development and utilization of available resources are then encouraged to support your therapeutic progress and guard against relapse.
Life transitions often lead us on a quest for self-discovery. As a therapist, my role is to collaborate with you in removing the obstacles that prevent growth and resiliency. This journey involves exploring how your past impacts the challenges that lead you to therapy. As we work together, you will develop the ability to navigate life with effective coping strategies.
At Happiness Hill Counseling Services, I offer quality mental and behavioral health therapy for adolescents and adults, with a focus in the treatment of substance use issues. By utilizing a variety of therapeutic interventions, I offer services that allow clients and their families to overcome the stresses and challenges of life to improve their daily functioning.
I want to see my client's whole life picture and work to provide a treatment plan that fits their goals. My practice includes a range of client types, each being unique. I believe that everyone has the power to change. I meet my clients where they are and I strive to provide a safe, nonjudgmental and supportive environment to facilitate that change.
Insanity is repeatedly doing the same thing, yet expecting different results. Ironically, someone living with chronic stress uses the same strategy. Hoping their "I'll get through this somehow" attitude will make the stress go away. Symptoms such as anxiety and depression, trouble sleeping, growing impatience and anger with others, trouble concentrating and making decisions, secretly feeling bad about oneself, guilty and resentful are all indicators one is out of balance. Let me help you remove this distress before it results in health issues. I have years of successful experience teaching clients powerful interventions to transform stress into personal empowerment.
My approach to therapy is client-centered. I use the "person in environment" approach to understand how the world around you is preventing you from living your best life. I believe everyone strives to be their best self, but challenges prevent us from achieving the life we want. Resilience, growth, and grit are achieved through the perseverance of challenges. Your best self is just beyond where you feel like giving up. I offer empathy and understanding, genuineness, and freedom of judgment, while also holding you accountable and pushing you to be the best version of yourself.

My clients typically struggle with high levels of stress, poor self-esteem, trauma, feelings of emptiness and disconnection, like their coasting through their own life, existing rather than living. They desire peace, joy, hope, love, acceptance, a sense of self, purpose, and want to break free from toxic patterns. My ideal clients understand that the process of change requires patience, dedication, and repetition. They are committed to showing up for themselves and have a spiritual foundation that provides hope. As a therapist, I believe my role is to help guide and support clients in their healing journey. I am trained in EMDR and it is my main modality. With this, I work to help clients heal from stressful experiences that make them feel stuck. I work with my clients to curate a felt sense of safety in safe environments. We then work together to install more adaptive ways to handle stress. I believe we are always working towards healing but at times, need some help along the way. I provide this so clients can feel more empowered, self compassionate, and grounded.
My goals are to support clients in developing positive emotions such as self-compassion, humor, and gratitude while also learning how to relate to all emotions as fleeting; as messengers of our experiences. This ultimately helps clients relate differently to stress, fear, and anxiety, empathize with others, communicate more effectively, and build healthier relationships. When we can learn to honor our internal experiences, relate to our emotions in a non-judgmental way, and treat ourselves with compassion, we can begin to create change and build meaningful lives for ourselves.
