I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who offers individuals, adults, geriatric populations in a general private practice setting in Texas. My practice offers a place where you can feel heard in a supportive, comfortable, and non-judgmental environment. I focus on adult care including women’s issues, career/educational issues, interpersonal communication, self-esteem, anger management, stress management, relationship issues, grief and loss, depression, and anxiety. I like to do therapy in an “eclectic” manner, drawing on cognitive-behavioral, narrative, spirituality, solution-focused, and others.

Life has its bumps, detours, and unexpected turns and stops. It is normal to seek out help to work through life’s challenges. Whether you are seeking clarity in some areas of your life, or wanting to work through complex emotions, or learn new techniques to cope with difficult situations or just focus on personal growth, I am here to help you reach your highest potential.

I am Licensed Professional Counselor licensed in Texas with over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical and emotional trauma. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines many counseling approaches such as but not limited to cognitive-behavioral, person-centered and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique needs.

I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety, depression, communication and family dynamics. My experience includes working at residential, inpatient, partial hospitalizations and intensive outpatient levels of care. I believe that everyone deserves to feel comfortable, confident, and have a sense of belonging in their own communities. I believes that you are the expert on you and therefore approaches counseling as a collaboration between me and the you.

Finding a therapist that matches your personality and to your liking is a full-time job itself - I get it. Therapy is more than just having a safe space to talk, it is a place where you can be you, and it would be my honor to host that space for you. As an immigrant in America (coming from Malaysia when I was 19 years old), I have gained an understanding of bringing harmony to different world views in marriage and family relationships as well as helping individuals with difficult life transitions.

When we seek psychotherapy, it's often a time of uncertainty/unknown, including “I know I need counseling but...gosh, what my new therapist is going to be like??”. I am a bilingual therapist (fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin) licensed in both Texas and New Jersey. I work collaboratively with my clients – individual, parents, couples, and families – using a relational, humanistic and client-centered therapeutic approach. As a culturally-competent and trauma-informed therapist, my priority is to create a non-judgmental, compassionate, safe, and inclusive space for all my clients. I am passionate about helping individuals recognize their possibilities, inner strengths and feel empowered.

Personal experiences can mold and transform us every bit of the way in our life journey. We believe that many wonderful experiences can enhance us, however, there are also those experiences that could trigger and mobilize a vicious cycle in our behaviors and attitudes towards life and others. At the end of the day, everyone deserves an opportunity to be wholesome and be able to breathe in their own skin. As therapists, our goal is to work towards partnering with you in your journey in learning healthy ways to cope, healing, self love, self actualization and wellbeing.

I view counseling as a collaboration between the therapist and the client(s) where we work together on understanding and resolving issues that are important to you. My job is to guide you in addressing your concerns and working towards achieving goals set during the therapy sessions. Empowering you to live a more satisfying and meaningful life by helping you resolve your personal conflicts and increase communication necessary for healthy relationships is part of this process. I provide a warm and supportive environment where clients feel safe to share, discuss, explore, and work through their problems in a positive manner.

I enjoy working with college students, professionals in healthcare, caregivers, singles that are dating/looking to date, single parents, newly divorced or separated, and specifically young adult couples looking to improve their relationships amidst juggling school, work, new baby, or life transitions. I also have a strong interest in helping individuals who struggle with the bi-cultural experience and inter-generational conflicts.
