As a counselor, I have worked with many kinds of people with different experiences and struggles including substance abuse, marriage and family struggles, depression, anxiety, etc.

At APC we offer outpatient counseling for children, adolescents, and adults. Our clinicians provide individual, couple and family counseling. Our core belief at APC is that mental health counseling is part of recognizing the whole person, taking into account family, social, physical and medical factors. Therapy is a process of self-discovery. Often, I have found that clients who present for therapy may identify experiences of depression or anxiety that are secondary to trauma exposure in their childhood or recent history. Moreover, clients often have challenges in their relationships with others which stem from their relationship with self, and from early childhood experiences in their family of origin. These challenges can manifest in many areas.

I offer two broad categories of services. First, I provide onsite grief or critical incident support in the workplace. Employers or EAPs request that I come to the workplace to provide immediate emotional first aid after there has been a crisis or disruption affecting employees. The types of workplace events I often respond to include: Death of a Coworker, Layoffs, Injury, Violence, Robbery, Mass Shootings, and Natural Disasters. I am generally available for onsite employee services within 24-48 hours, and I am able to travel quite a distance to your location.

Difficult life experiences can take away our sense of safety and make us feel detached from the world and others. Examples of these events include involvement with the foster care system, family separation, chronic illnesses, military deployments and readjustment, and sexual trauma/military sexual trauma. I have experience helping individuals and families process these traumatic events to assist them in reducing the negative effects the symptoms of trauma can have on survivors and the people that they love.
