My mission as a psychologist is to provide clients with quality humanistic and clinical psychological services. My focus is to enable clients to acquire insight, skills, and motivation for emotional, cognitive, and behavioral transitions. I believe it is essential to the therapeutic process to provide a supportive environment that promotes freedom of personal choice, so that healing and learning can take place. It is important that each client feels welcome to explore personal issues in an open and safe environment.
Every person deserves a chance to heal and psychotherapy is a gateway towards that healing process. I work with individuals including teens, adolescents, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, interpersonal issues, and other mental health concerns. My goal is to provide the right tools, comfort and guidance to help you cope with any of your life’s stressors. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all type of treatment and I prefer to integrate different approaches and find the direction that works best for you.
Psychotherapy helps people develop inner strengths and resources that allow one to live a more satisfying and productive life. Psychotherapy can be greatly transformative and offers both hope and development of psychic tools for human problems. Often people come to therapy when they are experiencing difficulties at work, in their relationships, and in other important areas of their lives. They may have symptoms of depression or anxiety, and feel unsure of how to address these problems. Psychotherapy can help alleviate these concerns and free up one's energy to live a more satisfying life.

Asking for help is difficult and it takes courage to share personal information with an individual you don't know. My goal is to offer a safe and comfortable environment for clients. I am passionate at providing therapy services to individuals, couples, adolescents and families, during major life changes, working through loss or trauma, or relationship stress . I utilize a variety of therapy interventions. Due to my belief in your ability to find your own answers, I see my role as a facilitator. I will provide objective guidance, challenge and support. I will listen without judgment, while helping you to tackle life's challenges.
I believe that therapy can be for everyone. Personal growth is a life long journey and therapy can help people realistically asses themselves and the manner in which they perceive, interact, and act within their world. I am here to help people achieve a change that promotes balance, growth, understanding and to become a “Master of their actions, not a prisoner of their reactions”.
I also believe humor can be used as an integral tool in the therapy experience. It often illuminates the many strange and challenging predicaments that we all face at times.
Whether the change you desire for yourself is great or small, each of us has within us, the strength to live a life of joy, peace and success. My approach to therapy is to help you identify how you can take charge of what is holding you back and help you move toward a healthier you. How? First, by learning more about yourself, including how you might be your own worst enemy in achieving your own success and happiness. Then I will support and coach you as you begin taking action and pursue what is most important to you – personal happiness, better relationships, living a more purposeful or rewarding life.
The journey inwards can be the next step in moving forward. Being willing to ask yourself the tough questions, become accountable, and be vulnerable takes courage. I am an advocate, supporter of others, healer of sorts (through words), and I do my best to offer compassion, a listening ear, and be your partner in the healing process. I thrive on human connection, whether it be through exchanging stories, memories, hardships, successes, failures, and learning from life’s inevitable mistakes. I believe in resilience during the presence of fear, anger when faced with injustice, and the capability to bounce back from adversity.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and I’m so glad you’ve decided to take this first step. I want our sessions together to feel comfortable, safe, and supportive. And while I try to tailor my therapy approach to each individual’s needs and preferences, I do hope that over time I can help you learn to approach life’s difficult experiences with more self-compassion and awareness.
You recently discovered your child or teen may need counseling and are thinking, "Now what?!" It could be that your child is acting out and their teacher recommended counseling; maybe your teen told you they question if anyone cares about them; or you began fostering a child and know they need the extra support; or maybe it's the stresses of everyday life that are bogging you down and you need some sort of outlet. One of the hardest things about being in a time of despair is feeling alone, as if no one understands you, and then being so scared to take that first next step without knowing where to turn or what questions to ask.
I work to create a welcoming and collaborative environment in the therapy room. I believe that empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard help create the space necessary for clients to understand themselves and make positive change in their lives.
