I have always been someone who cares for others and a natural problem solver. Being a therapist allows me to use both of these strengths to help people. I decided to specialize in OCD because I am passionate about providing quality, evidence-based treatment. OCD is often misdiagnosed or overlooked, and I wanted to be part of the solution to that problem. At NOCD, my team and I specialize in providing evidence-based treatment for OCD. Our understanding of its nuances enables us to properly diagnose and treat it. We have received intensive training in Exposure Response and Prevention Therapy (ERP)—the gold standard treatment for OCD.

Hi! I'm Aaron. I enjoy working with people who want to grow. My belief is that emotions are meant to be moderate and support/empower one's actions, not overwhelm and disable. To do that, emotions need to visit our bodies and then move through us and 'leave'. My method is for motivated men and women, pretty simple, but not easy.

I specialize in working with teens and young adults, particularly women of color from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. I empower individuals to grow and flourish at their own pace. To achieve this, I utilize a variety of evidence based therapy methods including CBT and mindfulness. However, I meet the client where they are- I understand that every approach isn’t applicable for every client. Therapy is not one size fits all.

Does that voice in your head keep you up at night? Do you ever replay the events of the day, wondering what you could have done, should have done, differently? At times, it may seem impossible to do it all and you may feel helpless to slow down the train. Underneath it all, you just want some balance, to be more present and enjoy the moments life has to offer. Yet no matter what you do, you can’t seem to find the joy and happiness that others appear to have. You really just want to know that everything is going to be okay.

Young adulthood can feel like one big “figuring it out” phase. You’re technically an adult, sure— but most days it doesn’t really feel that way. And the pressure to have it all together only makes things harder. Maybe you’ve changed your major (again), maybe you’re trying to sort out what your friendships or relationships look like post-college, or maybe you’re working on setting boundaries with family and realizing… wow, this is all way harder than it sounds. Some days it can be exciting, other days it can suck. Underneath it all, you just want to feel connected, confident, and comfortable in your own skin. Is that too much to ask?

I love working with children and families. I want to have clear communication with guardians while also creating a safe space that allows children to express themselves with a degree of age-appropriate privacy. I work with children to identify their emotions, learn their emotional triggers, and build a toolkit of coping skills. I also work with you as guardian to build plans of action at home and provide psychoeducation that is research backed so that you feel informed and confident in your parenting. I also recognize that as your family grows and changes you may find it helpful to reach out for support for yourself.

Have you been feeling unheard? Have you felt that others have been quick to label your distress, but not support your healing? Creating and holding space for folks to feel safe in, share, be authentic, be vulnerable, and heal is something I have felt called to do throughout my life. I am an adamant believer that individuals are the experts on their own experience, and view therapy as a partnership on a journey toward healing, for which an affirming and non-pathologizing space is essential.
