As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and therapist, I have worked with children, youth, families, and young and older adults in these exact situations.

We work to help clients better understand their own histories, and how past hurt, trauma or turmoil can impact their current relationships. In our private practice, we work with people to strengthen their resilience and identify strategies for coping.

If I were to imagine an ideal client, it would be someone who wants to change no matter what their needs are. It would also be someone who is open to new and innovative treatment modalities. It is also beneficial to have someone who is not hindered in what they discuss. Everything is important.

My ideal client is someone who is willing to work with me in order to achieve their goal. This includes being able to have back and forth conversation around ways to achieve that goal, as well as have the more difficult conversations when it comes to road blocks and the occasional self sabotaging behavior. I will always be honest in my assessments, and thoughts, and my hope would be that my client is as well.

People are often exposed to stressors and or traumatic events that at times can unravel emotions that seem to consume us. During these times it seems hard to find the light at the end of the tunnel. My passion is to help people find this light, to help heal from their past trauma and move forward. I assist my clients; school aged children and young adults in finding and changing their negative distortions and identifying their strengths in order to help achieve a peaceful, happy and whole perception of themselves.

Life can be very challenging at times. Often, we find ourselves in places, wondering how did I get here? Or not again? Although the details may be different, you will find repeated themes in your life. The first step in solving any problem is to identify the problem. We will work together to gain an understanding of: why you are where you are at this time in your life, what you would like to change, and learn the tools needed in order to effectively make the changes and establish long and short term goals.

Having someone you trust and who is totally dedicated to your best interest is often the exact thing you need to open yourself up to a new perspective or make an important change in your life. I try to utilize my range of life experiences and education, a fair amount of wisdom and an ability to see effective ways to handle problems and tough situations. Regardless of your circumstances, my full intention will be to create an honest and supportive environment to help you successfully deal with the challenges you face. Therapy is an act of strength, hope, and resiliency. Even the happiest and most well-adjusted people may encounter problems resulting from unexpected life challenges and demands. My goal is to work in collaboration and partnership with my clients to bring about positive changes, growth, and healing from past painful events. I have 15 years of clinical experience as a psychotherapist. I received both my Master's degree and Continued Advanced Graduate Study Degree in Counseling Psychology from Cambridge College. I am also certified as a cognitive behavioral therapist from Boston University School of Social Work.

Welcome! I believe that the relationship between me and my clients is the foundation on which, together, we will help you to understand yourself better, realize the patterns that are holding you back, and make the changes that you decide are enriching for your life. A large portion of my practice focuses on work with clients who struggle with issues related to trauma, attachment, and interpersonal wounding. This has led to an extensive background in many different disorders and presentations. In addition to working with individual clients, I also work with parents, including adoptive parents.

Our practice offers clients a chance to collaborate to create a strength-based, client-centered, holistic treatment plan that will allow the client to achieve their goals through a wide variety of interventions. Our group practice has a variety of clinicians who have an extensive history working with a wide variety of presenting problems, including mood and adjustment disorders, trauma, and family and relational issues. We will work with you to find creative and plausible solutions to the problems you are facing. We believe wellness is achievable, manageable, and sustainable for all clients.

While life puts us through many challenges and adversities, I believe that every individual has within themselves the potential to build resilience and persevere in life. Within therapy, I works with clients with a strength based approach to build resilience, strengthen their community connections and grow through the sufferings of life.

At Medical Psychology Center, we believe there is a strong relationship between emotional and physical well being. Our mission is to provide treatments for conditions which stem from this interaction. At the core of MPC's integrative treatment model is a skilled clinician who understands the complex relationship between mind and body, and is accordingly able to design and provide the most appropriate treatment for a patient's specific presentation.

I am currently utilizing telemental health and look forward to resuming in person sessions, soon, for those that would prefer such.
