I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, specializing in relationships, personal healing and trauma. I create safe caring spaces where we can join together while facing difficulties. Counseling with me is affirming and interactive. You will learn to identify and release problematic beliefs and behaviors, that have become barriers to your wellbeing. You will gain new perspectives and acceptance to help you heal, while discovering insights to the power and strength within you.

Welcome! We provide traditional and holistic healing for mind, body & spirit health. We work with individuals, couples, families & groups age 5 and up. The facility is located on a main street with free parking. This is a private practice with a private waiting room in a very comfortable & soothing setting. Look for the yellow house with raspberry trim. Hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. When you call, we will do a brief intake, verify your insurance benefits & schedule your first appointment. We do not have a waiting list and can schedule your first appointment within the same week.

We were designed for connection; marriage and relationships should be a delight - a life giving connection with the one you love above all others. We marry or are in a relationship with that one person with whom we hope that we will find happiness, joy and peace. We bring ourselves with all our differing personalities, history, baggage, wounds, and family of origin issues to each other and our lives together, and these things can make it very hard to find what we long for.emotional issues that come from trauma, as well as depression, anxiety, and low self worth.

Each person is impacted by unique challenges and empowered by individual strengths. I find it a privilege to support clients as they discover the best version of themselves and unlock their potential. In a collaborative environment, I use an eclectic, psychodynamic- based approach to explore what strengths, weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and challenges contribute to living a fulfilling life. Through a strong therapeutic relationship, I hope to engage clients in a journey toward healing and thriving.

I empower my clients thru creating a atmosphere that is safe , and comfortalbe to explore the complexity of both indiviudual and relationship concerns. My goal is to help you build a more satisfying life by creating long-lasting change and resilience. I am results-oriented. Many clients and parents report significant change in 4-8 sessions.I work with clients from many different walks of life and provide comprehensive counseling services for adults, children, adolescents, couples, and families. Our life's work is helping clients achieve a better sense of self and happiness...more recently we've recognized that without good mental health providers finding this balance in life can be more difficult and stressful. As a result, we tend toward and Integrative approach and have our clients transform into the people they want to be. We see each client as an individual with many parts to their identity. Utilizing a holistic and systemic approach we help clients reintegrate the parts of themselves to function better as individuals and within their systems. Our focus tends toward a systems based approach using behavior methods.

One of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves is the time and space for healing and growth. In therapy, my goal is to help you find and nurture your authentic nature, and to honor the wisdom gained from your lived experiences. Our work will consider the various intersecting aspects of your identity and the social, professional, and other cultural contexts in which you exist. I believe that as you experience yourself holistically, on your own and with guidance, you can naturally open yourself to more opportunities for healing, connection, growth, and other meaningful change.

Healing can be a journey. I believe asking for help is the hardest part of the healing journey. It’s difficult to find someone to open up and show your authentic self. I try to create a space that is welcoming to all parts of you. Clients who gravitate towards healing with me share values in learning, growing, change, and challenge. I primarily see folks who are BIPOC, LGBTQ+, First-gen/Immigrants, creatives, and/or trauma survivors.

As a therapist and mental health advocate, I believe everyone deserves one hour a week completely dedicated to them and what's coming up in their life. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, LGBTQIA struggles, or relational issues, I can offer you a nonjudgemental and engaging space to get to know yourself on a deeper level. Through a process of self-understanding and self-acceptance, we lay the groundwork for your desired life shifts.

Therapy is scary, but it doesn't have to be. As a Queer Latinx therapist, I've been where you're at right now, looking to make sense of how you feel, looking for guidance and healing. I have worked along side and supported individuals with complexities in their lives that have chronic stress, anxiety, depression, as well as individuals that have been affected by violence in or outside of their home, and those who have been greatly impacted by generational trauma, and community violence. My approach is to meet you were you're at and setting goals together to meet your needs.

Cherry Hill has seven locations including: Lake Zurich, Vernon Hills, McHenry, Deer Park, Chicago, Grayslake, and Wheaton. In the chaos of day-to-day life we tend to forget how much our innate strengths can help us deal with and manage what ever turmoil we encounter. In therapy we will work together to help you recognize and develop your skills, strengths, and values to help you through some of your toughest situations. The crux of my approach is simple, but versatile: I use anything and everything available to make breakthroughs possible. We all do better with an expansive toolkit. EMDR for "stuckness" / trauma and Gottman methods for couples to repair & connect. (Well worth YouTubing either for a sense of them.) Once we understand each other and you are insight-equipped, we'll put insight into action. But in ways that feel authentic to your personal experience of things. Clients often report that my approachable, humorous, "very human" style makes therapy a much more effective experience even when exploring difficult content.

It's normal to have difficulty with communication in relationships from time to time. Couple's therapy can help you get unstuck. I teach mindfulness and Emotionally Focused Theory to help my clients get unstuck whenever they find themselves feeling blocked in their relationships. This can look like feeling anxiety when approaching certain topics, or a lack of trust in your partner's words and actions. Sessions include psycho-education, emotional processing, and structured exercises to support you in developing new ways to communicate.
