My passion is working with families, couples, and men seeking relief from issues related to communication; regulation of emotions, thoughts, and behaviors; and strained or fractured relationships. I also have clinical experience treating anxiety, ADHD, OCD, intrusive thoughts, depression, grief, and trauma. My typical clients seek to relate more peacefully to their loved ones and want to develop more effective coping skills against their daily stressors. I have a 20+ year background in providing counseling and psychotherapeutic services to integrated behavioral health patients of all ages, from the chronically mentally ill, self-esteem problems, relationship problems, spirituality concerns, identity issues, those who suffer from terminal medical illnesses, in addition to those battling severe chemical dependency problems. I also have experience in providing therapy for inmates as well, and I'm currently attending medical courses to develop learning along the the biochemical spectrum of clinical disorders for future psychiatric practice.

I provide psychotherapy to treat: Anxiety, Panic, Depression, Grief and Loss, Sexual/Pornography Addiction, and Compulsive Eating. I provide treatment from a Cognitive and/or Behavioral perspective, which helps clients to understand how their thinking impacts feelings and behavior. I also offer faith-based counseling methods for those seeking such a treatment perspective. For evaluation I provide comprehensive evaluations to diagnose, determine treatment, assess competency, and for a variety of legal issues.

Anxiety, depression, decisions, and the feelings that are wrapped into all of this is part of what makes us human. We are created with a hardwiring that neurologically adapts to the every changing world we live in. In the midsts of it all is you and your specific, one of a kind, and valuable Mental Heath needs. My ideal client likely contends with isolation and depression, along with stress, memory and cognitive issues. The quality of their life can be enhanced with the right therapy, providing them with a sense of dignity.

I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for 38 years. Previous to being a therapist I was a teacher of the deaf. I enjoy working with couples, individuals and families on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, marital issues and parenting.
