The negative thoughts in your head are so loud. Feeling inadequate, unworthy, and “never enough” you struggle to connect with others. Anxiety and stress feel like a regular part of your life and you don’t know how to break the cycle of negative thoughts and actions. Minimizing your experience, you think, “I don’t have it that bad,” but you can’t shake it off any longer. The more you push your feelings down, the more they bubble up in other ways. Feeling isolated, stretched too thin, and overwhelmed you’ve finally made it here to look for support. Simply wishing things are different is not enough.

Sometimes life can feel lonely, stuck and meaningless. We live in a world that encourages us to cut off from our feelings, from our sense of being truly alive. When we do this, we can begin to feel rigid, anxious, depressed and empty. I am passionate about helping adults with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem and relationship issues. My approach is to help you connect to your body and emotions in a way that helps you know yourself more deeply, feel more confident in your decisions. Using these methods, we can help, pull you out of depression & anxiety spirals.

Your story may include experiencing cycles of depression, anxiety, grief, past trauma, struggles of worthiness and belonging, the complexities of being a part of an immigrant family, generational trauma, a combination of these things, or perhaps something entirely different.
Imagine you are the writer. You have all the pieces of your story within you already. Think of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as those pieces. Sometimes, they don’t make any sense, it’s overwhelming, and you don’t know where to begin. That’s where I come in. While I cannot write your story for you, I can be there with you to guide you through the process as you explore and learn more about yourself, reach clarity and understanding, and experience a renewed sense of hope.

I am a therapist providing individual and group therapy to adults. Many of my clients struggle with depression, anxiety, unstable relationships, blended families and life transitions. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is built upon trust, compassion, and honesty. This is critical in helping clients begin to find light at the end of the tunnel, and the best version of themselves.

Using a gentle, unwavering approach, I work with women in their 30s and 40's to help free themselves from anxiety, and work through trauma and attachment wounds.
You’re a sensitive woman who feels and thinks about things more deeply than others. Lately, you feel lost, disconnected, and wonder if you can even feel better. You thought you were ok but experiences from the past have reappeared. The anxiety and sadness have crept in. No one can tell because you hold it all together. Exercise, eating healthy, doomscrolling, reading about what you're going through, and talking to those closest to you isn’t helping anymore. This has taken its toll. You want to feel less shame and guilt; no longer feel like the past is in control; and gain a sense of calm and freedom from this.

My areas of work include loss and grief, trauma/PTSD, depression, anxiety, adjustment difficulties, parenting, and conflict resolution.
Congratulations on taking the first step in starting therapy. For over 20 years, I've enjoyed collaborating with adults, teens and their families to resolve conflicts, and foster more meaningful relationships. Anxiety and depression can cloud our ability to see ourselves and others in a positive light. Together we can challenge negative thinking that blocks goal attainment, regulate overwhelming emotions, and calm the body. In a safe environment we can explore new ways of thinking and being. I look forward to joining you on your journey

I work with individuals that want to feel better but do not seem to know how. Whether it's surges of weekly anxiety, recovering from heart breaking loss, or an inability after achieving all we set out to do to feel good about ourselves, my clients have hit a wall and their coping skills just aren't working as well anymore. I believe that everyone holds the knowledge they need to heal and move forward inside and that with the help of a guide (therapist) and a few tools (therapeutic methods), they can uncover this knowledge and feel better, each and every day.

Let's face it... LIFE. IS. HARD. You are out here giving it your all, yet often find yourself feeling exhausted, anxious, lost, and overwhelmed. Meanwhile, everyone else seems like they've got it all figured out. Well, here's the thing: you are not alone in feeling this way, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with you because of it. In fact, discovering this truth is at the heart of therapy.

Most of my work is with individuals who are experiencing issues related to depression, anxiety, PTSD, self-esteem, family conflict, trauma and sexual abuse.
There are difficult things that are hard to talk about and you may carry them quietly for years and years. They weigh on you, causing emotional, physical and relational problems. If you've reached a point where you feel that you can no longer do it alone, I would like to help. As a counselor, I will listen, and will work together in helping you with what has or is happening. Our goal will be to accept yourself unconditionally and determine the best next steps to overcome what you are facing.

Therapy can clarify the uncertainty that accompanies life transitions—which are often fraught with anxiety, depression, self doubt and unexpected changes in relationships. I offer a supportive place for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and what's best for you. We can meet in my office, or we can walk and talk outside.

I specialize in working with adult (18+) individuals facing a variety of challenges, including grief, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, trauma, stress management, self-esteem, identity issues, life transitions, and more.
Welcome! My name is Maranda and I believe finding the right therapist is crucial, akin to finding a life partner. I view therapy as a collaborative partnership, where we work together to achieve your goals while tapping into your inherent strengths. I believe that laughter, along with tears, is an important part of the healing process. In sessions, I bring curiosity and honesty, meeting you where you are and guiding you in challenging outdated beliefs. My philosophy is that therapy is simply for those who have exhausted their current coping skills and need to learn new ones.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
