Life satisfaction hinges on the quality of past & current relationships because we grow through them. I work with adults, adolescents, college students, and transitional-aged clients to uncover the roots of inner distress and expand awareness, curiosity, energy, and empowerment. Life is not rigid; it flexibly ebbs & flows. Growth, while scary, requires surrendering outdated beliefs and behaviors, leaving a familiar comfort zone. But guess what? You will not be alone.

Many of my clients are those who tend to give too much, disconnect from their own needs and desires, feel depressed and anxious, and/or experience chronic pain. They are often highly sensitive and imaginative, helpers and healers, with literary, artistic, or philosophical leanings. They are all seeking to heal inner conflicts and relationship problems rooted in early attachment wounds or traumatic experiences. Most importantly, my clients have come to recognize it's time to do their inner work in order to create the outer life they want, and they continue to grow and deepen into their innate wisdom long after therapy has ended.

A valuable lesson I received in therapy was that not listening to my intuition led to distress. Many of us disregard our inner voice in favor of external messages containing judgments about our size, race, gender, sexual orientation, and how we express our emotions. This attempt to cope with the world around us and to fit in leads us to devalue and move further from our true selves. I help my clients sift through these messages to find their voice again and move closer to their authentic selves. When we begin to know ourselves better, we can navigate through the world more confidently and build more genuine relationships.

You may be arriving here feeling overwhelmed, unfulfilled, or stuck—aware that something in your life needs to change, but unsure where exactly to begin. Despite having a vision for how things could be different, the gap between where you are and where you want to be may feel insurmountable at times. In response, you may find yourself engaging in coping strategies or behavioral patterns that offer short-term relief but ultimately reinforce the very distress you're hoping to move beyond.

Welcome new clients to my warm-hearted practice. I specialize in helping women in their 30’s & 40's to trust their intuition, to feel centered, embodied, and sturdy inside. Together we work to transform anxiety, depression, and maternal health challenges, into living freely and authentically. Women often describe what it is like as high-achievers, perfectionists, feeling like they do not belong, C-PTS, rage, grief, all things related to motherhood, perinatal/postpartum, matrescence, and low self-trust. I also support couples preparing for/parenting young children.

Do you feel life is restricting you from who you really want to be for yourself, your partner and/or your family? My primary goal in therapy is to help enhance your ability to make choices. Our ability to notice our cycles of interaction in our relationships can help us build trust in ourselves and enhance our commitments to ourselves and our loved ones. This, in turn, allows our choices to become "building blocks" toward lasting joy for each relationship creation of our choice.

Juggling the multiple roles and relationships that society calls us into can be quite the challenge. However, understanding why and how we suffer can give us insight into our deeply held longings. Therefore, our symptoms have the potential to guide us toward our most authentic path. I specialize in working with those in "quarter-life" (roughly 18-40) as they grapple with identity issues, relationships, finding their place in the world, and balancing a life that includes both meaning and stability. I provide a safe and openhearted experience for my clients where all aspects of the self are welcomed with warmth and curiosity.

I’m a trauma-informed therapist who supports teens and adults, as they navigate challenges like substance use, disordered eating , and relationship patterns that can feel hard to shift. My work is rooted in compassion and understanding — because these struggles don’t happen in isolation, and change takes time, safety, and connection. My approach is attachment-based, psychodynamic, and narrative, which means we look at how past experiences shape the way you see yourself and relate to others. Together, we make space for your story with curiosity and care without judgment.

Do you feel exhausted, overwhelmed, or lost in trying to figure out how to best support your child? You are not alone. In this post-COVID era, children and teens are struggling with emotional regulation more than ever, and parents are faced with challenges beyond the typical stressors of parenting. 1 in 5 teens struggle with a mental health disorder, few get the treatment that they need to overcome these issues (CDC).

I love working with children, teenagers, adults, and seniors. My ideal client is someone seeking support with stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, or life transitions. They may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves or their relationships. They want a compassionate, nonjudgmental space to process their emotions, gain clarity, and develop practical strategies to improve their well-being. My clients are often deeply curious individuals looking to cultivate a sense of fulfillment and self-understanding. While many have histories of complex trauma and/or addiction, others have struggles more rooted in the present moment, such as challenges with relationships or executive functioning. As a therapist, my role is to cultivate a container of trust that allows your innate inner wisdom to emerge. We work together to compassionately witness the patterns keeping you locked in cycles of dysfunction. From there, we experiment with strategies to help you feel more embodied and capable of initiating change in your life.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
