Asia A. Eaton, Ph.D., is a feminist social psychologist and Associate Professor of Psychology at Florida International University (FIU). Her research explores how gender intersects with identities such as race, sexual orientation, age, and class to affect individuals’ access to and experience with social power in (1) intimate partner relationships and (2) in the workplace. Since 2016, she has served as Head of Research for Cyber Civil Rights Initiative (CCRI), which is working to understand and end the emerging epidemic of nonconsensual porn in the U.S. She is also working with leadership at Lotus House women’s shelter to better understand and serve the needs of women experiencing homelessness. She has authored over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, served as Associate/Lead Editor for journals including PWQ, American Psychologist, and JSI, and is the recipient of APA awards for mentoring, scholarship, service, and leadership.
