I’m currently an intermediate student of Somatic Experiencing, and have also participated in training in Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) as well as Brainspotting.
I am a client-centered, registered psychotherapist (qualifying) who has completed the Master of Arts and Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. In my practice, I work to build on the client’s natural resiliency, and aim to support them on their healing journey by meeting each person where they are at. Primarily, I work with clients who have dealt with various different traumas by using somatic therapy. I also support clients who are experiencing stress and burnout, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and those who are navigating life transitions as well as living with ADHD.

Sometimes we feel lost, but we are in control. Be in charge of your own life, not out of fear, but out of love. Your path is unique. Dare to live! Problems in child- or adulthood can be diagnosed, but they do not arise 'just like that'. Collaboratively we will work together on finding the root causes for these issues. I focus hereby on attachment, parenting style, present relationship(s) and temperament. If you understand where the problems come from, you are able to address them, with support from the people surround you. If you experience no support, I will support you to mobilize people.

Drawing on Internal Family Systems and Somatic Therapy, we will navigate the complexities of your experience.
Feeling anxious, caught in the cycle of people-pleasing or struggling with an eating disorder? Are you disconnected from your true self or struggling with relationships? Childhood trauma can have lasting effects that limit us, impacting our self-esteem, direction, and relationships. If you're navigating the conditioning from emotionally immature or neglectful parents, or if relationships don't feel safe, holistic psychotherapy can be your compass for healing. There's hope for breaking free from old patterns, knowing your true needs and desires, and living a life aligned with your authentic self, not just societal expectations.

To aid this I integrate evidence-based practice such as Psychodynamic Therapy, Family Systems, CBT and Emotion Focused Therapy, to help individual, couple and family clients become more in tuned with their own mental, social, and spiritual needs and that of others.
My philosophy is that the past builds our being through the experiences we had and the lessons we learned. These experiences help to shape our sense of meaning and personal fulfilment through our journey. Therefore, I believe that it is important to explore the past and see how it shapes our experience in relation to ourselves and others. I incorporate this perspective in my work with clients and help to emphasize the power of choice, explore unmet needs and help to explore important areas for boundary setting.

I have experience in polyvagal theory and nervous system regulation work, parts work, family systems, attachment, cPTSD, destructive relationships, codependency, anixety and depression.
No one escapes life’s challenges and they can leave you feeling stuck. Having a safe space to land and process our experiences is something I am honoured to get to do with you. I like to think of myself as a guide; supporting you along your journey but empowering you to have the tools, strategies and skills to one day make it on your own. Embarking on a healing journey can feel overwhelming and alone, but we are here so you do not have to walk that road alone. A study by Gabor Mate revealed that trauma without validation or a compassionate witness goes unprocessed, and that is what Danielle offers in the counselling room.

To guide this exploration and narrative building I integrate evidence-based practice such as Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Family Systems, DBT, and Experiential Therapy to help clients experience healing and foster a better sense of self.
My philosophy is that as we experience life we form narratives that shape how we view the world, ourselves, and others. We repeat these images, stories, and metaphors to ourselves, and look to reinforce these narratives by looking for evidence that supports them.

As a therapist specializing in trauma, grief and relational issues, I mainly use somatic therapy, accompanied by emotion-focused therapy, family systems, attachment theory and existential therapy.
It takes courage to begin taking steps toward starting therapy. Has your life become too overwhelming and stressful to manage alone? Are you grieving? Trust me, I have been there too, and feeling anxious and fearful is normal. As your therapist, I will walk with you on your healing journey. A safe and supportive ambiance would be created where we can share openly and address your concerns. I would like to help you, especially if you are experiencing relationship/identity issues, anxiety, grief, or trauma. If you are open to working with me, together we could develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your unique goals.

I use a holistic approach blending family systems, the psychobiological approach, cognitive-behavioural, dialectical behaviour, attachment based, sex-informed, emotions focused, and somatic.
Relationships are at the core of feeling love and belonging. However, when our relationships are functioning poorly we can experience anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, or anger. In this space, we will explore how early life relationships shaped your attachment, communication, and conflict patterns to connect them to the impact they are having in your current life. From there, we can develop healthy new patterns. I also work with couples on their communication, boundaries, intimacy, meeting needs, and trust. Together you will learn to communicate safely and predictably and co-create your ideal intimate life.

With an integrative approach that incorporates evidence-based therapy models that include CBT, Family Systems, EMDR and Mindfulness Based approaches, my aim is to provide a safe, inclusive and supportive space for you to identify and explore your struggles, to work together to set goals, and find healthy solutions that work for you.
It is my belief that there is a story behind everything we do. While we can't change the events and circumstances from our past, with support and understanding, we can often process through them in order to heal, learn, and grow. With this insight we are better equipped to make changes in our lives that can provide us with a renewed hope for our future.

I have advanced training in Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) and Emotionally Focused Couple’s Therapy (EFT), both of which I use in my work with individuals, couples, and families.
We often believe that we are alone in our suffering, that no one has experienced or could understand what we are going through, or conversely, that the suffering of others is much greater than our own, that ours does not deserve attention. Fear of judgment and vulnerability can keep us from reaching out when we need it most. That is why I believe there is power in creating space to explore obstacles that hinder us from thriving. Whether you are making sense of your past, navigating issues in the present, or planning for your future, it would be my privilege to walk alongside you on your journey of healing.

Family Systems Counsellors
Family Systems therapists view problems within the family as the result not of particular members' behaviors, but of the family's group dynamic. The family is seen as a complex system having its own language, roles, rules, beliefs, needs and patterns. The therapist helps each individual member understand how their childhood family operated, their role in that system, and how that experience has shaped their role in the current family.
