I have worked with a wide range of symptoms, however most of my experience lies in working with individuals who are managing anxiety, depression, and trauma related symptoms.
Hello! I thoroughly enjoy working with people and feel honored when a person trusts in me their life story/current difficulties. I believe there are many different reasons to seek therapy, and that each of us have walked such unique and sometimes challenging paths to get to where we are today. I enjoy getting to know the intricacies of these paths and what has led an individual to where they are today, and from there beginning the work, collaboratively, towards where one would ideally like to be.

If you’re here now – chances are you’re ready for a change. Perhaps you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Burdened by wounds from your past. Maybe you’re struggling to cope with anxiety, low self-esteem, or managing the relationships in your life. Many of my clients come to therapy seeking help in these areas. They typically gain a greater sense of self-awareness, growth, and empowerment through the work we do. Nobody is immune to the struggles that life often brings. I won’t tell you that therapy will be easy but the power of working with a therapist you connect with can make all the difference.

Hi! I'm Tabatha. I'm going to be real with you, I am an odd duck. I don't say that in a self-deprecating way. I feel like sometimes what others need from therapy is not only someone who can be serious, but can be silly when you need a good laugh in-between all the trauma talk and hard times. I choose my practice name of Mountains and Molehills not only to have a little fun with it, but to also share that no matter the problem, big or small, it matters. I currently tend to work with clients ages from 18 years and older who suffer from Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorders, PTSD, and life transitions.

With over a decade of training and experience, I specialize in supporting infants, children, teens and adults who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety and life stress.
Update: Not accepting new clients - I believe that people make sense in the context of their story and that the key to healing is within each one of us. My approach to therapy has evolved over the years as I began understanding that what most people are looking for is someone who can help them with a deeper understanding of how they became exactly who they are today.

I practice from a non-pathologizing perspective and fuse my clients’ context, experiences, core values and goals with a solution-focused lens to encourage my clients to understand unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. I share what I am observing authentically with direct communication and work to help my clients express and integrate new perspectives and emotions in a healthy way in order to reach their goals. I value and integrate aspects of most theoretical modalities, but work mostly from a solution-focused perspective while also emphasizing and exploring emotions.

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
