The focus of our practice, is to assist adults, children, and families with obtaining relatable therapy, to reach goals. We assess situations in your life which contribute to current emotions behaviors and thought patterns. With child and adolescent clients our focus is similar, with the addition of close communication with the family. Moreover, with child and adolescents, we will focus on depression, impulsive behavior, limited attention span, oppositional/defiant behaviors, dishonesty, and social issues in school/home. Family and/or friends are welcome in your sessions for support. We do offer 430p-630p, and weekend appointments.

I want to help set you free. I am certified in DBT for adolescents, young adults, adults and families and also have a certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for eating disorders. I am a certified trauma specialist. My other specialties include substance abuse, eating disorders, depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, stress, relationship difficulties, and grief. Our practice consists of two clinicians Thomas DiPaola (609)731-0456 and Carol DiPaola (908)692-0925. We have over 30 years of experience in the field of psychotherapy. We understand reaching out for assistance is difficult. Treating our clients with dignity and compassion is our standard. Our mutual goal is getting RESULTS for our clients.

To open up about our innermost thoughts, a supportive & understanding therapeutic environment is essential. I take pride in tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of each individual and provide the comfort to help people to grow. I have a client centered approach, with a blend of creative cognitive and behavioral techniques, mindfulness and motivational interviewing. I have provided individual & family therapy for kids ages 4- 19 and have also worked with young adults up to senior adults, while working in a variety of professional settings, including in-home therapy for 10 years, advanced care planning, and private practice.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Loyola University of MD in Psychology with a double Minor in Sociology & Asian Studies as well as a Master’s Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University of NJ in Clinical Counseling. I have extensive years & experience working with children/adolescents/adults/older individuals in the behavioral/mental health/addictions field – with varying levels of need.

This could mean working on anxiety or depression, improving your relationships and overcoming life changes. This may also mean helping you take pleasure of life, regardless of what surrounds you. I have been providing therapy to individual adults and children, as well as couples and families. I work with a diverse range of emotional, behavioral and relationship issues, using the most effective research-based treatment models.

I am here to help you navigate life's journey and take your control back. I am dedicated to helping my clients promote change in order to live a happier and healthier life. I have extensive experience in dealing with those who are struggling with changes in life's circumstances, whether it be health status, trauma, grief and loss, relationships (divorce), anxiety, depression, or self esteem. Although we cannot always predict what will come our way, together we can find a way to cope with the unpredictability of life while promoting your health and well-being.

In a world plagued with problems, it can seem as though solutions don't exist, but I am convinced that all problems have answers. People are unique and a treatment plan is needed to address each individual's unique problems. I use an integrated approach to treating patients. My background (MPhil degree) in genetics gives me an edge; help me to understand behaviors and problems at an inheritance level. As a scholar I approach problems with scientific method and look at the cause and effect of all problems before coming with an appropriate solution.
