I specialize in trauma, loss and grief, and ADHD.
Therapy is a healing journey. My role in that process is to work collaboratively with you to identify struggles and issues, and agree upon a therapeutic approach to help create hope and achieve goals that will bring about positive life changes, such as emotional healing, resiliency, improved mood, increased self-esteem, personal insight and growth, increased self-determination, effective coping skills, improved interpersonal relationships, and an increased sense of empowerment. The Certificate in Human Rights I have from BSU adds to my ability to connect with people from a multicultural perspective and with cultural competence.

I've studied several modalities of somatic healing including SE, OI, and NARM (Developmental Trauma).
My favorite modalities of therapy are Somatic Experiencing and NARM, whole body modalities that involve greater focus on physical sensation, emotion, the felt sense, and incomplete motor programs. Both have grounding in modern neuropsychology. I have found that these techniques enhance a person's journey to integration. I have a background in Jungian work and also have a MA in Folklore and Mythology. I enjoy working with clients who have an interest in somatics, story, and healing from anxiety and trauma. I have done a great deal of men's work and enjoy helping men recover from depression and difficult relationships.

I am gifted in working with children, teens and adults especially those struggling with grief, trauma, parental separations, and anxiety. I believe kids/people are resilient in dealing with these events if given the opportunity to do so. Children/teens often just need the unencumbered help of an empathetic adult, I offer this through play therapy sessions. I also work with adults in navigating issues such as anger, grief, parenting, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

I am passionate in working with adults who are struggling with Trauma, Anxiety, and Depression.
Accepting new clients. If you are here it is because you want a change, and change can be hard. I believe this is because through life we have learned to avoid those emotions, thoughts, and situations that are difficult for us, whether it be through distractions, substances, or other means, and wanting to avoid the difficult things is natural. However, avoidance can lead us away from those things that mean the most to us, leaving us feeling stuck and defeated. As an ACT therapist, I strive to give you the abilities to be with your difficult experiences, while you engage in actions and experiences that move you towards your values.

I've had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients and issues that include relationships, anxiety & depression, self-improvement, addictions, and trauma (EMDR).
The process of change can be a difficult one. There are many obstacles you can expect to encounter in trying to change. The single most important factor in creating therapeutic change is actually the relationship that you have with your therapist. As a result, finding the best fit for YOU is crucial. I am devoted to creating a very genuine, safe, comfortable, empathetic, and understanding environment for my clients. My philosophy: because people are unique with their own individual experience, I pull from many different theories, exercises, and fields of thought to create an experience that is custom to my clients' specific needs.

PTSD and healing other forms of past pain are my main expertise.
It is common for people to say therapy hasn’t helped much and in many cases has even made things worse. Understandably, this increases people’s fear and doubt about therapy being able to help them. I find that most therapy is ineffective and most therapist are poorly trained. Because of this, I have been deeply committed to becoming a much better therapist providing the most modern and effective therapeutic approaches. The people I work with regularly report more significant energy, relief, and sense of lightness. They also tend to share that the process was quick, effective, and enjoyable. I work with individuals and couples who face grief & loss, depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, & more.
The effectiveness of counseling boils down to the relationship between the client and counselor, which to me, is the most important aspect of the entire process. I strive to provide a comfortable, open, and safe environment which hopefully leads to a feeling of security where we can be honest and transparent. Finding meaning and purpose in life at times is difficult, my hope and vision is to foster a relationship where it becomes somewhat natural to discuss the obstacles in the way of attainting your true meaning in life. I enjoy working with individuals and couples who strive to become the best version of themselves.

Sexual, physical, and emotional abuse in childhood can greatly limit the degree to which one can function fully and find fulfilling relationships. I have an endless amount of compassion for the pain that life can bring and a tremendous amount of respect for the courage that it takes to look honestly at ourselves.

Hello, My name is Garrett Price. I do not think of people as sick or broken; I refuse to see others through the lens of disease. You are not your diagnosis, you are not your loss, you are not your thoughts, your feelings, or your actions. You are that which is behind your eyes, a wonderful mystery that is having this experience. This experience, or what we sometimes call life, can be hard, and in difficult times it's helpful to have a path or direction. This is the idea of Trailhead; a place to find a welcoming other, to discover new skills, heal the mind, strengthen the soul, and find a way forward.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
