Hello and thank you for viewing my bio. There are many reasons to enlist a psychotherapist or counselor, including seeking a better understanding of yourself, following a path of self-discovery, looking for hope and support, or stepping more powerfully into yourself to live the life you wish to have. Since our relationships are so core to engaging our biggest selves, talking with a therapist can often help identify our personal patterns of relating in a way that may help us begin to enjoy more satisfying relationships.

As a trauma-informed counselor my work is focused upon people struggling with grief, depression, anxiety, low self-image or feeling generally overwhelmed. I employ a sex-positive approach when working with clients, to best serve those struggling with their own personal relationship to sex, sexuality, and sexual identity as well as those experiencing difficulties in their primary relationships surrounding intimacy, vulnerability, and codependence. I approach each client with an open heart, seeking to meet them wherever they are emotionally, spiritually. I also have years of experience working with alcohol and/or drug addictions.

Life sometimes doesn't go as planned and some challenges can benefit from an experienced guide. I am a specialist in treating trauma and in working with couples. I seek to help develop the tools needed by each unique client using evidence-based approaches balanced with patience, warmth, and enthusiasm. I try to meet each person where you are, discover the strengths within, and focus on helping you live a life based on what you value. I believe communication and boundaries are vital in all relationships and try to provide a supportive, encouraging, sometimes light-hearted, and non-judgmental space for exploration and healing for all.

I love the counseling that I do. For the last twelve years I have been a witness to the courage, tenacity, and resiliency of my clients as they strive to improve their personal lives and relationships in their families. I am convinced that much of our life is determined by the lens that we choose to look through. I also believe counselors are most successful when they also have a healthy lifestyle and live the principles that they teach to their clients. I believe that when you meet me that you will find me to be grounded, healthy, and authentic.

Who is the most influential person you know? Would you believe it's yourself? You listen to the thoughts in your head more than anyone else. Your internal dialogue shapes your behaviors more than you can imagine. We often get stuck when we believe these thoughts.

Do you often please others at the expense of yourself? Perhaps you keep repeating unhealthy relationship patterns - searching for proof of your worthiness in relationships outside of yourself. How loud is your inner critic? Are you hiding guilt and shame behind masks of happiness? Are you indecisive - valuing others' opinions over your own? Do you often feel overwhelmed? You are not alone. Many of my clients feel this way, and I can tell you that there is hope. There is another way to live. You are strong and resilient, even if it doesn't feel like it right now. This life can be amazing. I can help you remember how to heal yourself.

My primary passion & skill is in working with couples, women, & anxiety. Firstly, I can relate. I am a (military)wife of 11 years & a mother of 3 young children. I know personally the difficulties that come with this, as well as the working mother. I have also stayed at home with my children & I get that as well. I clearly remember being a college student & the unique challenges of that period of life. I have had my own journey with severe anxiety & God has helped me heal and grow from it. I am hope and future-focused, I'll help you walk towards the person you have always wanted to be & the full, abundant life God desires for you!

Céleste leans into transformation to transcend the patterns of thought and behavior that perpetuate dissonance and the imposition of self-misidentification, self-doubt, compassion fatigue, and stress. Celeste works with you through self-discovery and by excavating the deepest parts of self that sustain connection and compassion.

I understand the struggle. Sometimes life is not as simple as we want it to be. Life requires change, growth and therefore challenges come with the territory. Sometimes we adopt behaviors that are hard to kick. Sometimes we are struggling to deal with changes in life, beyond our circumstances. When we embark upon making change, the first thing we do as human is call on will power. Unfortunately, will power only last so long and we quickly revert to old lifestyles and behaviors.

How can I find a therapist in Idaho?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
