I am accepting new clients and offer Online Counseling via Telehealth. I've provided over 10,000 hours of therapy and like Confucius said, "Choose a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life." I managed LDS Family Services for 13 years and loved directing the 12-step Addiction Recovery Program in Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania. I've been recruited by multiple residential treatment centers, a hospital, a skilled nursing facility, and by an IOP program assessing and treating substance abuse and domestic violence.

I can help you work towards the real issue right away and help you start feeling better from the first session. First thing I want to say is that I am so sorry your heart is feeling a consistent pain...This pain is very important to me and I am here for you. We can make it. A broken heart is the root of most individual and relationship problems. The brains job is to reduce pain and numb the heart. I believe that you can learn all the coping skills in the world, however, if your heart is broken, those skills usually will not work. Once the heart feels soothed and understood then the mind may accept new solutions and skills.

Hello, My name is Liliana and I work at Utah Lakes Neuroscience Mental Health Center, where we take an integrative approach to Mental Health and Trauma Therapy. Do you feel lost, lonely, scared, helpless? Have you had enough BIG reactions to little events that just leave you feeling so heavy and defeated. Does it all begin with an endless pit in your stomach, or your heart racing so fast you think you're going to spin out of control. Can you feel it right now as you read this? Are you wanting for someone to give you answers, understand you, or just listen without judgement, or preconceived ideas of who you are?

As a therapist, Cameron utilizes a collaborative approach creating a space where experiences and ideas can be explored to gain understanding. With this knowledge it is possible to create new perspectives, move forward with life transitions and ultimately a path towards healing. He uses methods that support clients in their life journey including emotion focused approaches, various cognitive strategies, and contemporary psychoanalytic theory. One size does not fit all and a concerted effort to find what works best is paramount.

I have decades of experience working with teenagers. Most of my schooling was done to work with adults. I even have military experience to work with veterans. I always strive to find methods to improve your success. That is why using the latest research, I developed Cognitive Physical Conditioning (CPC). CPC can improve clients' ability to overcome mental disorders & nearly double their chance of success with less time in treatment & reduced relapse

Teen Therapists

What does therapy for teenagers look like?

When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?

There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?

You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
