Michael Reilly, MD, feels truly fortunate to practice the art and science of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Reilly recognizes that appearance plays a critical role in the way individuals experience the world, and he also believes that facial wellness comes in many forms. He believes that for both cosmetic and reconstructive reasons, facial enhancement and rejuvenation can contribute to an improved sense of self and well-being.

Dr. Reilly's training began with undergraduate and medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then went on to complete his surgical residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Georgetown University. Subsequently, Dr. Reilly completed a prestigious fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California Los Angeles Medical Center before returning home to Washington, D.C. in 2009 to join the faculty at Georgetown University Medical Center, where he currently serves as Professor. Dr. Reilly is board certified in both Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Reilly has been at the forefront of research exploring how patients undergoing cosmetic surgery are perceived differently after an intervention. He has authored and contributed to numerous original articles and book chapters, and he takes pride in his role teaching medical students and resident physicians at Georgetown. He is always open to discussion and learning from his peers, colleagues, patients, and the public about the nuances in the realm of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Amir Hakimi, MD, is a resident in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He then graduated from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. Dr. Hakimi has published numerous research articles in prestigious peer-reviewed scientific journals with a particular interest in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He has a passion for innovation and developed an iPhone medical application to expedite the diagnosis of ocular injuries. Additionally, he wrote a textbook on the use of ventilators during the COVID-19 pandemic.
