Beverly Conyers

About

Beverly Conyers began writing about addiction and recovery in 2003 after learning that her adult daughter had become addicted to heroin. Her mission was to learn everything she could about the disease and to help others who were struggling to cope with a loved one’s addiction.

Combining research, personal interviews, and lived experience, her books include the acclaimed Addict in the Family: Support for Loss, Hope, and Recovery and Everything Changes: Help for Families of Newly Recovering Addicts. A native of Salt Lake City, Conyers previously worked as a newspaper correspondent, corporate writer, and freelance writer. She lives in Massachusetts, where she teaches English at a community college, and is the mother of three grown children and four grandchildren.
