I am a relationship and sex therapist who works with individuals and couples struggling with intimacy issues. At times we face problems in our sex lives that leave us feeling isolated or misunderstood. We may be experiencing a crisis, such as the discovery of an affair or conflict over pornography, or struggles over one partner's loss of interest in sex, or a life transition, such as the addition of a baby, that leads to conflict rather than connection in the bedroom. Whether you are married or single, straight or gay, if you are experiencing sexual problems and/or relationship problems, I can help.

Are you struggling with feeling sad, exhausted, irritable, restless and/or worrying about the littlest things? Are these symptoms negatively impacting your quality of life? Your relationships? Your productivity at work? You are not alone! Millions of people worldwide experience these same symptoms. Although, many do not seek support despite mental and relational well-being being intimately connected to our health and vital to living a long, healthy, and fulfilling life. It is never too early or too late to focus on you and/or your relationships.

I help people who experience depression and anxiety find relief. You’re not sure how it happened, but there they are-those dark feelings you can’t shake. You may be feeling unmotivated and down. You may feel overwhelmed and plagued with constant fears and worries. You may be having a hard time at work or school/college. You don’t feel good enough and your relationships are suffering. These problems feel daunting, but you’re ready to make a change.

Are you trapped in a complex family and/or work situation? If both, there may be a similar pattern of causes even in dissimilar situations. Understanding complexity can identify basic hidden patterns. Some clients experience chronic or acute physical illnesses: these are clues to unraveling the complexities. Emotional and physical problems may be a surface expression of buried family or personal trauma. For my clients, discovering patterns embedded in family behaviors can help them manage their current problematic situations. Psychotherapy can help clients move forward in systems that seem beyond their control.

I am a student of the human condition. My career has spanned the fields of massage therapy, Yoga, theater arts, and now counseling. I hold a lifetime curiosity about how stress, pain, trauma, and navigating the nervous system relate to ongoing mental health challenges. I have had the privilege to work with clients in a wide range of communities, with a wide range of abilities and challenges and I look forward to building an inclusive, holistic practice as a mental health counselor. I am particularly drawn to the intersections of eating disorders, neurodivergence, and LGBTQIA+ community.

Sometimes life has a way of challenging you to your core. Relationships, parenting, self care, balancing work and career, can all be almost too much to maintain at times. If you are seeking the tools and support to make positive change and learn more about yourself, your capacity, and self growth, I am here to help walk along side you in that journey. Reaching out to begin the counseling process can feel overwhelming and even intimidating, but working to build trust and rapport and meeting each client where they are in their life is my goal to help ease the process and make way for welcoming change.

We all have spirit. The spirit to move toward meaning in this limited time we have. We often need support in this chaotic world, to speak our truth- And a space to set expectations aside but for an hour at a time. To decide what we want to be and how we want to show up in this moment. And what we want to leave behind as a legacy to family, community, and the world. It would be a privilege to provide a space for you to explore this.

I enjoy helping people get along with each other - with their spouses, parents, children, friends, coworkers. Relationships are often complicated by issues from the past, and I work at a deep level to address present day and past issues. I like to help heal individuals who have been traumatized recently or in the past. My approach is love based, and focused on reducing stress and healing fears. I focus more on healing which leads to permanent change than on temporary behavioral change, and I integrate the most recent brain research. I also honor and integrate my patients' spiritual beliefs and values into the therapy.

I want therapy to feel like an outlet for you and a space for you to grow. It is going to be work but should never feel like a burden. If you feel like you have lost yourself, or you have always been lost, we will work together to find the best version of you. This is your time to shine! We will focus on your strengths and look at what is working. The parts of your life that are not serving you we can explore and find solutions. We will take it a step at a time, no rush. How can I find a therapist in Fort Collins?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
