As humans, we are always changing. I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, and couples who are ready to take charge of their own change; those who want to ensure that they are getting closer to the best version of themselves. Too often, we feel that the world has taken control over us, and our story is being written for us. However, I do not believe that this has to be the case; you CAN take back your life, and I am excited to partner with you on that journey!

You are busy, and successful in your career. You've worked hard to achieve. And -though difficult to admit - you are struggling with keeping all the balls in the air. Whether it is an acute issue, or a longstanding difficulty, you will feel my well honed skills as we navigate forward. You don't have to suffer alone anymore, or feel like you have to settle for less. When you come to me you can be assured that our focus and attention is on you and your goals. Often, the adaptive strategies we have learned as younger people, outgrow their usefulness later in life. I feel honored to accompany people drawn towards growth and change.

I love when I have the opportunity to witness a client step into owning their unique story rather than living as a character in someone else's story that does not align with their authenticity and values! By releasing shame and rigid (right or wrong) thinking through moving into nuance and abstract thinking we can begin to appreciate the rich array of emotions and information to move from conflict towards adaptation and harmonizing our inner and outer worlds. Clients who thrive with me value questions that challenge them, homework that propels them, and my eccentric, playful, and nerdy yet disciplined approach to personal evolution!

I help people overcome their anxiety and depression to reclaim their life from worry and sadness. Many times, anxiety and depression can happen so gradually that you’re not sure how you got there. You find yourself bombarded by worry and incessant thoughts or perhaps you feel lost, unmotivated, or just not good enough. These experiences are increasingly common in modern life and do not have to be addressed alone.

Divorce/ high conflict relationships/ narcissistic abuse/ conflict coach /mediator If you are in a high conflict relationship and want to get out, you've come to the right place. My focus is on helping men and women develop the skills and strategies they need to disengage, deescalate, and move on with their lives. Endless conflict, "word salad" arguments, gaslighting, love bombing, walking on eggshells...these are all signs of emotional abuse and it can be so hard to move on from that. But that doesn’t mean empowering solutions aren’t waiting for you at the other end of it: I’ll walk that path to empowerment and freedom with you .

Do you lie awake at night, sheets twisting beneath you, worst-case scenarios running through your head? On social media, you’re bombarded with horrific news of terrorist attacks, plane crashes, mass shootings. The unremarkable posts hurt just as much. Captions like “My mom is the best! I’d be lost without her!” make you clench up inside, heat coursing through your veins. People tell you to “Stay strong,” but they have no idea what you’ve been through. After experiencing trauma, nothing feels safe or certain. You want to curl up on the couch and push everything else away.

Do you find yourself unable to get a thought or feeling out of your head? Even when you do everything to gain peace and calm, it never lasts and you find yourself needing to seek reassurance or check again that everything is all right. Anxiety comes in many forms, and sometimes it feels like you spend so much time in your head, that your life and relationships suffer. The uncertainty of the future can leave you exhausted from trying to prevent all the potential catastrophes. Perhaps you suffer from regrets and replaying scenes from your past. The good news is that there are effective treatments for this type of persistent anxiety.

Emotional wounding, loss, trauma, and unhealthy relationships often create a sense of overwhelm, heaviness and prolonged anxiety that can feel never-ending. Over time, it's common to become increasingly detached, stagnant and feel like it's impossible to connect with others in an authentic and meaningful way. Psychotherapy provides the unique opportunity to 'get real' with 'what is', allowing you to grow and heal in ways that will benefit all of your relationships, including (most importantly) the relationship that you have with yourself.

How can I find a therapist in Fort Collins?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
