You know the pain of feeling stuck. You've done everything you think you 'should' to make the situation better but things still aren't working out the way they should. You don't know what you're doing wrong. Perhaps you can't shake the feeling that there's something else out there for you but duty, responsibility and obligation keep you in the same situation. Maybe you long to do something different but the fear of what might happen stops you from making the changes you really would like to make.

When you are feeling lost and overwhelmed, those next steps forward can seem intimidating or perhaps impossible. If you feel alone and stuck, unsure of how to move forward or what that journey even looks like, you have come to the right place. I believe that therapy should be a safe, inclusive, and non-judgemental environment. I love holding space for people to process their concerns so that they can make a meaningful change in their lives.

We all, at some stage of our lives, may face difficult situations and life challenges. It may be related to our relationships, loss of a loved one, adaptation, education, employment, conflicts with family members, illness, or questioning our gender. Facing these challenges may make us lose hope and our focus on daily life tasks. These feelings may lead us to think, nothing will ever get better or change, or there is no bright tomorrow in our future. What’s important is the way we view things and with whom we can share our most personal thoughts, feelings, and fears. I'm here to support you in a non-judgemental way.

Counselling is a collaborative process of exploring the difficulties (stress, emotions, experiences) that the client brings forward in session. Counsellors promote change by helping the client to focus on the feelings, thoughts, behaviours, and experiences that are maintaining barriers to attaining goals. Counsellors are there to “do with” not “do for.” The client is the one that leads the way, while the counsellor acts as a guide or support. My goal is to help you find your voice and your path to being your favorite version of you!

Do you feel like you are crumbling on the inside, trying to hold it all together; meanwhile you feel tense or just "off"? Did you dig deep to move past a painful experience only to find similar feelings popping up again and again? Have you worked hard, “done the right thing,” and followed what you thought was the right path but still feel burned out, unsure, and overwhelmed? Do you believe you should feel happier with the life you worked so hard for? If “is this it?” is a question you’ve been asking yourself often, then I want you to know: you’re not alone.

Life can be challenging, and you deserve support. Yet, we as women feel guilty for prioritizing ourselves all too often. We are used to putting others’ needs and comfort before our own. Maybe you notice being very critical of yourself. Perhaps you’re struggling with relationships, life changes or overwhelming emotions like anxiety, anger or shame. You might be asking yourself: “Who am I? Is this the life I want?” I want you to know that you don’t have to deal with it alone.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In Canada, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or province where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
How much does therapy cost?
Some forms of mental health treatment (for example, seeing a psychiatrist, or seeing a psychologist in a government-funded hospital) are free under provincial health plans. Canadians who seek private counseling can typically expect to pay an average of $150 per session, although the actual price generally ranges between $100 and $3200 per session, depending on their location and the type of provider they select. Workplace benefits or private insurance plans often provide an annual counselling allowance, and some therapists offer sliding scale fees to clients who cannot pay full price.
