I work from a narrative therapy and attachment lens and take a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.
We all have unique strengths and life experiences, and I believe that we all have the potential for therapeutic healing and personal growth. Perhaps you are struggling with where you want to be and need some support finding your path, getting unstuck or relating to others. I work with clients to help manage stress, build confidence, improve relationships, and improve their mental wellbeing.

I am a trauma focused therapist with a passion for helping people discover their inner strengths and wisdom. I use an integrative approach that is influenced by Intersectional Feminism, Internal Family Systems, and Somatic healing work. I also rely heavily on my own knowledge and intuition gained through personal healing. Through empowerment and increased self awareness I can help you unearth and move through difficult emotions, process trauma, and work towards deep healing. I believe a journey of discovery and alignment can lead to a deeper relationship to self.

Experiencing some level of personal crisis, perhaps as a result of historical, recent, or ongoing abuse or violence, could be why you find yourself looking at some mental health resources. You may have gotten to the point where you know somewhere within yourself that the experience you are having is overwhelming and is not sustainable. In whichever way this might be playing out, I know that you have not found yourself in this place due to any lack of trying hard to figure this out on your own. With my training & background, our work together will help you to process, integrate, and heal from the lasting impacts of trauma.

Accepting new clients . Are you feeling overwhelmed ? I offer non-judgemental, down to earth sessions where you can come to be heard, to talk about what's really happening for you, to work on realistic goals, helpful tools and solutions. I have experienced a great deal of grief, trauma and anxiety in my own life. Which included a car accident, struggling with chronic pain and the death of my younger brother due to complications with kidney disease. I know how hard it is to try be strong all the time and to try to do it all alone. Reaching out for support is brave.

70 years of life experience has been my best teacher (even though I have all the necessary professional training.) I have experienced loss when 2 spouses passed away from disease. I have won my own battles with cancer and addiction. I have raised 4 children, 2 step children (some with special needs) and now enjoy 12 grandchildren. I treat anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and anger by addressing the root of the problem - trauma. I am trained in EMDR, which is useful in healing PTSD (both childhood and adult trauma). Within minutes (not months) the pain of trauma can be permanently erased and people are less triggered in life.

Do strong emotions and memories impact how you live? Unresolved trauma and chronic stress can create negative thoughts and feelings and negatively impact our overall well-being. We may experience anxiety/depression, addiction, chronic stress, etc. Coping mechanisms may become ineffective or even harmful over time. Are you new to therapy - or have been to therapy before - call to discuss how trauma therapy may help.

I am trained in a wide range of trauma focused therapeutic skills such as Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Trauma informed yoga, Mindfulness, Dialetical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Hypnotherapy I am currently pursuing advanced training (Level 1 & 2) in Complex Trauma (C-PTSD).
The physical & emotional habits developed in the context of your traumatic life experiences have constrained your capacity to live your life fully. Your attempts to live to the true potential you carry within, leave you frustrated. You feel alone, misunderstood and overwhelmed - like the emotional rollercoasters you are on will never relent. You end up often turning your present and future into a version of the past! If this describes how you feel, take a breath - what you are experiencing are best described as trauma responses. Therapy can offer tremendous possibilities for healing & growth. Why not experience it for yourself?
