The quality of our lives is based partly upon the quality of the questions we ask ourselves daily. I hold a core belief in the power of people and relationships to heal and transform. I think that nothing should be labelled as good or bad, right or wrong, it is simply effective and ineffective. Therapy can allow us to find patterns that are no longer serving us, or beliefs that are keeping us from healthy connections with others. I aim to create a safe space, relaxed , empathetic and confidential environment. This positive context helps us explore new ways for your to connect to yourself , and to those you are in relationships with.

I strive to provide individuals with ways to explore, cope, and manage concerns of mental health, feelings of being stuck, and family/relationship issues, as well as to find ways to improve on their overall well-being and health. My aim is to collaborate with individuals and families to find solutions on issues that are causing them pain and suffering by tailoring my approach to specific needs. I work with clients from a goal oriented perspective and encourage exploring the meaning behind behaviours, thought patterns, and feelings so as to provide transferable skills both inside and outside of the counselling realm.

If you are looking to understand yourself on a deeper level and take control of the things that are hurting you, I can help. Whether it be relationships, limiting beliefs, or past wounds that are holding you back, we can work through identifying and processing through them so that you might move forward with more freedom and peace. If you are experiencing feelings of anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, shame, fear, irritability, etc, you deserve a place to unpack and get to the bottom of it. It is only when we can understand the root of the problem that profound coping and healing can really begin.

Sometimes, despite all our efforts, we find ourselves on a path that is too challenging or headed off course – what once worked is no longer working, or so much has happened that we cannot find our bearings. I find that clients are looking to feel lighter - they want to process past and present struggles and shift into new ways of relating to themselves and to others. My approach is client-centered, trauma informed, strengths based, emotion focused and experiential. I work with younger and older adults, youth and teens, and parents. I value your time and resources, and believe that change can begin from our first session.

My work as a therapist is informed by human resilience and our intrinsic drive to heal. I believe that we are oriented towards growth, and the integration of trauma, life experience and pain is the doorway to actualization. I see therapy as a tool for becoming, it is process of unfolding, discovering and meeting yourself. This work can be challenging: struggle is part of the human experience, however, so is transformation, connection, and change. I work closely with those who have experienced trauma, disordered eating and body image issues, and anxiety and depression.

How can I find a therapist in Kelowna?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postcode into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In Canada, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or province where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

How much does therapy cost?

Some forms of mental health treatment (for example, seeing a psychiatrist, or seeing a psychologist in a government-funded hospital) are free under provincial health plans. Canadians who seek private counseling can typically expect to pay an average of $150 per session, although the actual price generally ranges between $100 and $3200 per session, depending on their location and the type of provider they select. Workplace benefits or private insurance plans often provide an annual counselling allowance, and some therapists offer sliding scale fees to clients who cannot pay full price.
