I have worked with trauma for almost ten years and I have loved every second of it. People often ask me how hard my job is, and it is hard but it is also so rewarding. I love sitting with people in their discomfort and going with them on their difficult but very worthwhile journey.

I have come to understand the needs of individuals, couples, and families as they face challenges which can seem overwhelming.  I appreciate the impact of evidenced based psychotherapies in helping the clients I work with achieve the results they are seeking. Leo Perez is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Utah who has been practicing since 2019. My name is Sandra Wilkes, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I attended Brigham Young University’s Master of Social Work (MSW) program specifically because of their focus on clinical therapy. That educational foundation has helped me assist others to facilitate change in their lives, as well as implement changes in my own life. My role is to support others and present skills for my clients, so they can achieve their desired goals. I provide a safe environment so my clients may feel comfortable while working toward those goals.

Life, like the ocean, can be beautiful one moment, and brutal and unforgiving the next. Whether we are besieged by feelings we don’t understand, held captive by an addiction we just can’t seem to overcome, or enduring a life transition that throws us for a loop, there are few things as destabilizing. It is natural in those circumstances to experience stress, depression, despair, anxiety, and anger. We may wonder if those feelings are our new normal. My response to that question is no. We can find peace and meaning.

I have been a therapist for approximately 17 years, mainly working in the juvenile justice system as well as a school setting. Most of my experience is with school aged children and adults, but I enjoy working with children and adults of all ages!

I know first hand how discouraging it is to have a therapist you just don't click with (or think is a total wack-a-doo). Its frustrating to open up only to have someone say, "that must be hard" and little else week after week! Dr. Jones, as licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and AAMFT Approved Supervisor, is the Zest for Life Counseling Payson, Office Manager. He received is undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University, is Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Oklahoma State University, and his PhD in Couples, Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Tech University. His experience in these programs has given him extensive doctoral level knowledge of evidence based treatment and prides himself in providing quality care. As an EMDR trained therapist Ethan enjoys working with individuals who have a history of trauma.
